If & if

I'd be very surprised if both are true.

So in your eyes, the club can't win on this one. If Brittan turns out to be a good un - he's obviously costing us money which should've gone on a striker. If we're getting him for free - he must be shit.

Not quite that simple , no.

If he's costing money, it's money poorly spent, for many reasons.

Do I think he's shit? Haven't seen enough of him to state one way or another, what I do know though, is Brighton tried to sign him in 2014 & it broke down through injury concerns. He's Bern recommended to City by Melbourne having left Brisbane over a contract dispute. I'm also reading a lot about him likely heading to City's sister club Melbourne. We'll see.

What really bothers me though, is what does it say to our other, already squad heavy, midfielders?

Oh, I also know the Australian transfer window shut on 20/10/15 & reopens 5/1/16, very convenient don't you think?

You're just confirming what I said - you've already made your mind up. He's either a waste of money, not good enough, or upsetting the applecart, or all 3.

It's clear you're never going to be happy regardless of what the club do - you'll admit you don't actually know any facts, but still go on to make the most negative assumptions you can come up with.

It's clear no matter what anyone says, you'll just try to be a contrary cunt.

What do you want? A full blown bloody essay on the pro's & con's I feel about the deal? It's a forum, not the Oxford debating society.

FOXSPORTS:

"For Manchester City, there is no risk in signing the Australian, particularly as they got him on a free transfer following his exit from Brisbane Roar. If he surprises and makes a push to contend for a spot in Manuel Pellegrini’s plans, it’s a bonus. If not, then the club is confident that Brattan will have plenty of suitors from the Championship or Europe to procure a transfer fee and make some money from the investment.

With Aaron Mooy, also a central midfielder, already at Melbourne City, Hinton [his agent] feels that the move to Manchester is not to simply join Mooy in six months time."

I'm agreeing with Cheese a lot recently (and frankly, it's worrying).

Why would anyone at the club be signing someone if it was not with an eye on the first team ?

He will be costing something but being better than we currently have is the criteria at the moment, Ameobi is not a world beater but better than Heskey and Madine based on Saturday.

It is a short term deal till Jan I think so City have signed him and will be paying the bulk of his wages, we are basically looking after him till Jan and they can decide then if they want him back. If they think all we are going to do is stick him in the reserves they may as well keep him at City, so why send him unless he is expected to play ?

We have all said we need a midfield player with a bit more presence than the current set of dwarves, he at least looks like he has that, not sure City would be signing if he was not better than Trotter so lets give him a chance.

How many loans now?

How many can you play in the team?

How many players now in our squad?

About time Lennon started getting the best out of what he's got.

You'll all be whinging when we've no money in the January window.

Can we not fire Welly off now he's crocked?

Doubt it, we can't just send him back because he's injured.....if we do, I presumes Arsenal will still want us to keep paying him what we've agreed to pay him

Depends what we are paying him. Giving him match time which if that benefits them, is worth it in the long run.

We don't know what deal they have pulled

In this interview, McGinlay suggests we aren't paying a penny.

Whether he's ITK or not, I'm not sure.
