Particularly this promise. “We will ensure taxes on working people are kept as low as possible. Labour will not increase taxes on working people, which is why we will not increase National Insurance, the basic, higher, or additional rates of Income Tax, or VAT.” Whadda girl! 🙄 Quote

The country is fucked, financially. Even the saviour, Farage, yester had to admit that the savings he said in his last mani weren't possible (he's not in power, so it doesn't really matter I suppose) - but the fact even he is rowing back, shouted how fucked we really are. Labour, could and should have said "Listen chaps, we're financially fucked, as that last lot who have been in power for the last 14 years have fucked us over a little bit. There will be a bit of pain, but we'll try our best, but until we get into #10, we don't really injure how bad it is, but we do know it's really grim" - they would have still got in. To promise no tax rises was just daft (IMO) Edited November 4, 2025 by Sweep Quote
Spider Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 Taxes were always going up , only a total thruster would have thought otherwise. I didn’t vote for Labour because I thought they’d reduce them. we need to pay that debt down. They didn’t cause that. Quote
Spider Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 In case anyone wasn’t paying attention about the magnificent job the Tories did with national debt here’s a little reminder Quote

It’s not the point that I’m trying to make though. All politicians lie, not just Tories. The ‘thrusters’ are those that believed that this lot would be any different. Quote

If we start paying out for every slightly quirky bit of brain activity we'd have to give everyone in the country a hand out. Obsessive folk are some of the richest on the planet. That Musk bloke for example, he 100% spends some of his days carefully folding bog roll into the shape of farm animals. I bet he isn't claiming benefits. If you shuffle round a town centre screaming at pigeons with a thousand yard stare and shit up your back, I'd say you probably qualify for some help, otherwise, just get the fuck on with it. I missed this and I think its pretty poor form to tell people that their issues, when you don't have a full grasp of the facts "Its normal, crack on" Of course everyone gets distracted from time to time or obsessed. That's not what ADHD is....Re-reading a paragraph a couple of times might be "normal" but being unable to process it after trying for hours on end, with your brain going off on tangents, daydreaming about unrelated things mentioned in the text, or thinking about other tasks instead of the reading material and not being able to stop it, no matter how much effort you put in, is not normal. Nor is obsessing about something ridiculous to the point of it practically stopping you doing what you need to do in your day to day life is either. I don't receive money for it either, I doubt many do, mine is classed as severe and the diagnosis wasn't just an interview about my symptoms either. I take medication and it makes me perform at close to a level a person who hasn't got it can. Not quite the level a non ADHD person does but it helps. On my meds I can feel my mind wander but I'm now able to stop it an pull it back to where it was and finish the task I was doing. Edit to add: I've actually lost jobs and missed out on being promoted for my poor concentration and haven't been able to stay in a job for longer than 2 years so I've never been financially stable..
