I always assumed that was to combat their upcoming population crisis.

Aye that and a backhanded apology for their past atrocities.

You can’t influence them enough, Germans & French run it, what they say goes, we’ve never really wholly bought into the eu, let them crack on and we do the same.

I was surprised to learn recently that the French had blocked our entry to the EEC a few times before finally allowing us.

Agree the EU needs a reform but I’m struggling to see how being outside of that gets it right. I also understand it will be a long time before we know if it’s been right or wrong to move. Surely influencing within as a big player would of achieved more?

Cameron tried that. Laughable.

I don’t think he did a good job granted. I’d suggest other attempts/avenues could of been attempted.

Are you a fan of Dennis mate , can't remember if you are ?

Saw this little interview earlier, was also watching a good debate in 1978 on ITV which he was on too with some proper politicians.

We’d exhausted all avenues, we were given no other option other than to suck it up, and that led us to vote to leave, the EU was so arrogant, they never thought we’d go through with it.

Like what?

'Dave's' ultimate threat to the EU was to have a referendum. He got fuck all from them, Farage was growing so had no option.

Then he, and the EU got a bloody nose.

All or nothing then. Surely blame on both sides if that was the negotiation. They must both be a bit shit

No, you need to remember that the EU is to blame for everything, and the UK isn't culpable or responsible for anything........even the stuff the UK agreed on and implemented with the EU. We've basically been bullied and pushed around from pillar to post for the last 40 years, and never had any input or say on anything, let alone agreed to any of the rules that they've forced upon us.
