DavidLeesMullet Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 So your plan would be to get rid of the manager and hope another one with a book full of inspirational quotes is sat waiting at the training ground? Visionary. At least I'm admitting there's a problem, Whilst others continue sailing along that famous Egyptian river. Would like to see somebody like the Cowley brothers take over, as they've done miracles at Lincoln, but would be difficult to prise them away I suppose. Quote
RUREADY2ROLL Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 What has happened to the football we played at Reading and Sheffield Wednesday? We were far better against them and created many chances We need to go for it not sit back Quote
bolty58 Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Bad day at the office, still 5 points clear of the drop, we move on. The most sensible comment I have seen since the result was known. Win at Barnsley and the likes of Stunned Mullet will be swinging from the chandelier proclaiming Parky as a football genius. All we have to do is get behind them and fuck all of the negativity off. We wouldn’t be slightly interested in them but if we were they’d crawl over broken glass to manage BWFC, after that suggestion I think you need to lie down and then seek professional help. ???? Biggish Dave Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Crap performance, poor officials and a trip to our favourite hunting ground on the horizon with 2 more injuries - oh an it’s pissing down again this morning. Buckley for me is never a footballer - his header looked a sitter from my position. We came out not to lose but got exactly what we deserved. No point moaning too much though, nowt I can do to change things. Onwards to Derby and a day on the ale Quote
Kane57 Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Can anyone name a BWFC centre half who was as bad on the ball as Beevers is? Quote

Guest Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 We did try and play football through midfield for a period in the first half. It went backwards and sideways aimlessly and Birmingham realised we had no way to play through them. When Ameobi doesn’t play well we have no outlet. Nobody to pass to who can make things happen. If Henry is out I have to say I fear for us now as Derik is awful and Vela is having a terrible season. ALF is playing well but I don’t think he really works up front in games like that. We might have to try the Nigerian...grim times. Quote
tomski Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Having had a few hours to think about this I am coming to the conclusion this is PP's biggest downfall. We appear to be bottle jobs. I can think of 3 games at home where I would of thought we would win: Brentford Burton Birmingham Then I think back to last season and the amount of games we blew to put promotion away long before the last day. There does seem to be some sort of issue. Bad result last night but as others echo we are still in a fairly decent place unless Barnsley win that game in hand! Is it before our match with them? As stated above with the pressure on, I'm not sure we would go and do the business. Anyway Coywm Quote

I can’t believe I’m entertaining this, but you’re suggesting sacking Parkinson now, with 6 games left, to spend the next week possibly more disrupting everything whilst courting, negotiating with and installing the manager of League Two Lincoln City to take over a team trying to survive in one of the most competitive divisions in Europe and hope he happens to be good enough to manage two levels higher and get what would be a pretty shellshocked squad onside? Absolute fucking nonsense. Quote

LodgeMorrWhite Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Parky and the team have have shown us they have the fight in them, maybe not last night but over the course of the season. As it stands Barnsley are still in a far worse position than us, all we can do is get behind what we have got in every single game. The end of the season is time for the post mortem but whilst survival is in our own hands, there is no reason to write us off. Quote

darrener Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Gary Madine wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference to that result tonight. Do we have to have this bollocks every game? ???? Quote

darrener Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 I don’t think anyone could possibly deny that It’s a “pointless point” though as it doesn’t help us going forwards at all I still feel that a more poignant question is why was the 9 iron from Beevers our only ball? Understanding and changing that is surely more pivotal to our immediate future if that's how Beevers hits a 9 iron he'll never hit a green Quote

I’d say your observation illustrates our lack of attacking threat and ability to “take it to” teams where the onus is on us. Although undoubtedly we’d have benefitted from Madine last night it runs much deeper for me. It is absolutely puzzling how PP brings Wilbraham on constantly yet the one game when it was clear that we had no other “game” than lumping it and he didn’t?! In his defence was PP trying desperately to bring another way of attacking by bringing ball players on such as Noone and Clough (I know Kirchhoff was forced)? If so I kinda get it but we looked so disjointed and it was as if they’d never played / trained together before. Instead of the introduced players dropping deep for it (other than Noone on occasion) we just had a front line of 6 and still hoofed it, but just to a more congested area and still with no real winners of headers. The players have to take their responsibility but Without a doubt PP got it badly wrong throughout last night. Sparks from Noone were the only positive I can think of really Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted April 4, 2018 Author Posted April 4, 2018 (edited) Where was Morais last night? He’s probably our best impact sub and we badly missed his creativity. Edited April 4, 2018 by Mounts Kipper Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted April 4, 2018 Author Posted April 4, 2018 1 other positive from last night was Readings defeat they are not out of the woods and have tough fixtures the last game of season against Cardiff. Quote

I feel a bit tight calling them because there has been a lot of positive stuff from this season but whether it be bottle jobs or unable to take a game to someone it’s really a poor do. It’s not necessarily a battle for this season but going forward it needs addressing Quote

It’s not necessarily a battle for this season but going forward it needs addressing We’ve both been going long enough to know Bolton never make things easy whether it’s a dog fight or promotion chase we are in. Similar to last season, enter April sitting pretty, mid April gap closed and shitting ourselves, by May bank holiday we’ll be home - just. Let’s enjoy the 4 week rollercoaster. If the worst comes to the worst, we drop back down to where I enjoyed football more than I have in years. Quote
