I still don’t understand why someone who isn’t a Bolton fan would tip £30million into a business that has virtually no chance of returning the investment.

same applies to any football club outside the top half of the Prem.

look at Huddersfield, relegated before the clocks go forward and likely to be up for sale by the end of the season.

It’s lunacy. And a reason to be wary of anyone who’s wanting to buy us.

Eddie was a fan not too bothered about making money, just not losing it all. The importance cannot be overstated.

I believe a lot of foreign investment stemmed from the fact they could lose millions in English football and write their losses off against tax in their own countries while still having a chance of getting a payday if the promised land is reached.

point still valid though, why blow a fortune on a football club

Dunno the ins and outs but if they make a sale this summer then surely Huddersfield's owners have made big money off their two seasons in the sun

Does anyone know If March season ticket direct debits taken from bank accounts today ?

Is anyone else numb enough to be paying the £4.49 a month subscription for video content they never watch?

If so, have they not taken your March payment either?

Huddersfield’s owner is a fan though, isn’t he? I’m sure they’ll have made some decent cash from 2 years of TV money as well which is essentially the carrot that keeps all of these nutcases ‘investing’.

Sluffy’s not done one for a bit, so here’s an update to save anyone the bother of catching up.

Maggie (?) wasn’t a Bolton fan in her yoof

H lot not the ST

Gerry Adams and Martin McGuiness were allegedly both actors in the 1980’s

Ken’s search for a stooge as ‘interested party’ only managed to net Bassini, a ploy so laughable I’ve had to change my keks frequently

According to H, Ken’s squirrelled away £12m. Ken’s generosity in sticking the odd £1m in then taking it back out again a bit rich seeing it was our brass in the first place.

Nobody knew about the £12m until Basran found it down the back of Ken's sofa. It's in the prospectus, hence prospectus subsequent to Basran’s sofa search.

It’s quicker just to boo all players than select individuals

Everybody’s buying H a pint of cinzano if it all goes to ‘plan’

We’re burning Ken at stake (probably)

Giddy goose is still a wanderers pub

JJ’s uncle (not that one) owns it

Colon II sounds like a really shit spaceship

H may or may not be related to former owner – maybe rev wright’s dad, although now denying it

Fair enough.

who’s going to buy them?

Hardly a business on the up now.

I don’t know enough about it, but seems to me that if he’s selling having creamed them for 2 years he’s no better than Ken.

Just checked. Burnden Bogs and I didn't say Maggie Tetlow was NOT a Bolton fan in her yoof, we both said we didn't recall her being. The closest we got to to being positive she wasn't was me saying I was "fairly sure" Happy to correct.

I used to knock about in the same group as Maggie and her sister around Harwood. At that time, 76-82 (aged 14-20 ish), I was attending every home game and as many aways as I could get to. I don't ever recall Maggie being part of the BWFC crowd. Obviously her love for Bolton may have developed later on in her youth/early adulthood but I'm fairly sure it hadn't during the time we knew each other

Wasn’t it developed when she had to take younger family to the match?

Not a clue. We each went our separate ways and I have no idea what happened in her life after our early 20s.

We were in the same crowd from about 1982-1986,when  we all went in the same boozer in Bromley X.I used be in the same footy team with her brother Paul - very tidy player , ended up in the US teaching kids sorccer iirc, Must admit i don’t remember her mentioning BWFC back then, maybe her affliction came later.

Has anyone made money out of owning a football club in the last 10 years? Folk don’t buy clubs to make money, its the same if you own Real Madrid or Rochdale.

My thoughts too. Why would someone buy with no real chance of getting anything back?

The glazers have made an utter fortune surely? Although an unrealised fortune as of yet

Personal gain maybe, but at a cost to the clubs balance sheet. Should have said what clubs have made profit over the last 10 years.

I feel a bit foolish now. At least the rest is 100% factually accurate :)

I expect Mr Uzmanov might have made a few quid out of the£550K he got for his 30% stake in Arsenal.

Probably some one who thinks they've assembled a squad capable of going back up

This bloke is a lifelong fan who's been in charge for 10 years, dunno how much he invested to get them up, but not heard any complaints from any Huddersfield ST holders
