Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 26, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted September 26, 2019 We were in admin and unable to sign players. What did the efl expect us to do? They must have known what limited resources we had and the risk that injury might further reduce the squad. Ok that's not their fault, but knowing the situation perhaps they should have done what they did with bury and suspend the games until the take over went through or we went tits up. Should have had a senior squad Should have rotated the 5 kids who played for 5 kids who sat on the bench the previous Saturday Should have signed some players who would have played for 2 and 6 per game (no matter what level they came from) the only defence we have is that we only missed one game this season and should only get one lot of points deducted this season Two points Firstly, if we had played 5 more kids, we wouldn't have been able to sign 9 players as the squad max numbers wouldn't allow it, I don't think Secondly, the game wasn't called off for welfare reasons...FACT

waffer cup 07
I know its been said before but if the EFL had proper checks in place for new owners of clubs ours and their situations would have never happened. They have a lot to answer for and yet appear blameless.

Moderators Casino Posted September 26, 2019 Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2019 I don't disagree with any of that However, it's our best chance of getting a lenient sanction

Whatever the reason we refused to play was, the welfare concern was valid in its own right.
mickbrown
The EFL are dicks They wouldn't let us play the kids last season. This season they want us run the poor feckers into the ground against their own welfare guidelines. They can get to fuck. You'd hope decent legal bods could drive a cart and horses through that. Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted September 27, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted September 27, 2019 No way EFL will be soft on punishment otherwise they are admitting they are partly to blame. Lets take the hit, yes we’re getting relegated but start making plans now to storm league 2 before the end of March next season. Winning games next season will put bums on seats despite it being League 2 - especially if we are playing decent football this season too
