They welded people into their homes

They do proper lockdowns

And we wouldn’t know if they did

2 hour time slots seem to be the theme. Can only order drinks once you've ordered food.

The play on rules seems to vary from pub to pub, local council to local council.

not where i go get there for 6 order at 7  stay till 9.45

People are going to bend the rules regardless.

Then blame everyone else.

Doing 3 hour slots at that Definitely Maybe place in town, I've booked in for Friday 13th as they're showing Bolton v Salford. Not been in yet, looks alright.

I doubt it’ll take too many secret shopper type visits to close pubs down for stretching boundaries. They’d be much better off sticking to rules.

Covid rules: Confusion as social clubs serve alcohol in tier 3 areas

An apparent loophole in government rules has caused confusion over whether social clubs are subject to tier three Covid restrictions on serving alcohol.

In areas placed in tier three, pubs and bars must close unless they are serving substantial meals.

But some social clubs are continuing to serve alcohol to members without a substantial meal after their local councils told them it was permitted.

The Department for Health and Social Care has been contacted for comment.

There are thousands of members clubs across England, including conservative clubs, working men's clubs and sports clubs.

Councils in Wirral, Preston and Fylde have all advised their local social clubs that the discrepancy exists because they hold club premises certificates and not premises licences.

Mill Hill Working Men's Club in Blackburn posted on Facebook that it is planning to reopen on Friday, prompting some to celebrate and others to condemn the move.

Seen a little bit more drip feeding of information about vaccine(s) on BBC news today, surely leading to a big information and slides burst at a briefing soon enough. Johnson can call it his Christmas present to the nation.

An example of the logistical nightmare(TM) that this will throw up, one of the 2 vaccine centres to be put in Nottingham is in a park which they thought was all fine, until they found out it was on the border between two of the main gangs. Theyll need guards and escorts into the facility when it gets to their turn next Spring!

Just announced the rules for tier 3 in Nottinghamshire, alcohol sales prohibited after 9PM in shops. I dont think that's a thing anywhere else is it? Makes sense though.

Watching  the news just now reporting the increase in cases across Europe. Germany implementing further lockdowns in November and admitting their ‘track and trace’ system is not working. France, Belgium and others struggling to cope with the number of people needing hospital treatment and  yet here, people are looking for loopholes to have a glass of beer.
It really is depressing.

Wait a minute.

germanys track and trace isn’t working did you say? Sure folk on here compared us to them as to why ours couldn’t work and lauded Germany as an example. A shining star.

sure those folk will be along to say hands up we got it wrong shortly.

It's simply wrong for the Government to hit 4 million more Londoners with a proposed congestion charge extension, which would have a serious effect on BAME-owned businesses. I'll say it again — I will not agree to these draconian terms. @EasternEye

I wouldn’t hold your breath. You have to remember everything European is better than what we do here

I’ve never claimed any other system to be better

I have claimed that ours is shit.

Ive nothing to compare it against (ironically, the government haven’t either as they didn’t tender it), but £12billion should - I think - buy you a system that works.

Dunno about the Germans, don’t really care.

Not just Europe, literally anywhere but Britain. In fact, anywhere but England.

Track and trace was always reliant on compliance by the people using it. The people ignoring it are the ones criticising it.
When people eventually realise that Covid doesn’t care about politics, we may start to see some real progress.

France going into second national lockdown, all non essential businesses shut but schools to stay open, no travelling between regions
