kent_white Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 Have a look at the second graphic on this page. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-54762048 What it is saying is that at current rates - the NHS will not be able to accept any new patients by Christmas week. Mid December for the North West. And that's including surge capacity, cancelling non urgent surgery, using the nightingales and reducing non COVID inpatient numbers by 50%. Any prime minister looking at that and not taking decisive action shouldn't be in the job. It's unthinkable! Quote

Ffs "A key difference this time is the government's science advisers called for a circuit-breaker six weeks ago. The price of delay is cases are higher and we have missed the boat for doing it at the same time as school holidays for extra impact. It means we may have to lockdown for longer. The spring lockdown did bring cases down. A lockdown now would be expected to do the same" Quote
kent_white Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 Whatever happens it looks like my leave is being cancelled - for the third time this year 😁 NHS unable to take accept patients Let that sink in for a minute. As it stands if you or your family need admitting to hospital over Christmas - you're on your own. Shambles. Quote

Sweep Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 I'm drinking in London today, just near Covent Garden. Other than a few masks, you wouldn't know there was much of an issue. It's nuts. This pub I'm in, is rammed, more than six to a table folk stood at the bar...... Its supposed to be Tier 2 here, I can see why we need to shut boozers now (down here anyway) Quote

Guest Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 Out of 5.6m people, the south west has 33 people in ventilated beds with the virus. They shouldn’t be locked down Quote
