National lockdown being announced Monday according to the times

I'm past caring what they do but why do the shithouses leak everything to the press

Posted

Said a couple of weeks ago - the decisions to relax the lockdown on Bolton was bonkers. No wonder is lasted about 4 days.

There's no easy way out of this.

Vaccine being distributed at scale by around April is what I'm hearing - between now and then it's all a question of priorities. Saving lives or keeping the economy on track.

Glad I'm not the one making the decisions - but RBH is going to be like a warzone in a couple of weeks unless we change something radically. And that's with mitigations already in place.

Brace yourselves.....

does anyone the actual number deaths , where the death certificate said the person had died soley of corona virus, i bet is tiny in comparison the the bumped up figure

The day Bobby Ball died, local news said that 26 people had died of Covid19 that day but then went on to say only one of those had no other underlying health condition. Given that that’s the only sample we have can we call it 4% of deaths due to Covid are actually due only to Covid?

Bang in the middle of GCSE and University test exams, I reckon it will be, if there is another lockdown, from Monday 9th November.

GCSE exams? They'll be a goner this summer.

You could be correct, it's either reduction in exams or a cross between CAG's and Exams. Surely we cant do what we did last year......... 🤔

We're having to prepare for both, data captures, assessments, early intervention and effort grades already.  Year 11 being drilled not to drop the ball just incase.

They've risen to it and it will be gutting if they dont get the rite of passage from exams and prom:(

We'll be on lockdown number 20 before some people get it.

And the Students/pupils are gonna be on it this year.... hopefully.

Your correct though, we cant tell the kids they maybe cancelled and they just go fuck it. Madness!

We have to have some form of exam/external assessment or we will end up were we were last year.

Schools being kept open has nowt to do with kids and exams and everything to do with keeping business open

You could answer his question

Most folk who die from covid aren't far off death

We have to have some form of exam/external assessment or we will end up were we were last year.

Generally speaking, this years Year 11s have been (and could be even further come the summer results 2021) the worse affected year group through this whole mess. Last years 11/13s had it bad, but they have all moved on and progressed, the majority with teacher assessed grades which were as good (some cases better) than what their exams would have given them. Ok there was the odd publicised case where this was proved the opposite

Their year 10 was disrupted half way through. A lot of Y11s, post September, have had disrupted breaks in their education and potted home-school learning. They are learning in a completely different environment, with different groups, different teachers and in a whole host of different ways. They are being pressured into performing well in their mocs as these might have to stand as an exam grade (even though much of the curriculum hasn’t been taught).

My lad has just had to isolate for a fortnight covering half-term, when we had planned days out, bike rides a chance to turn-off for a bit and get out. Instead we’ve had to keep him chained indoors.

He’s relatively bright lad who should get the grades for 6th form. But he’s certainly in no place to “be on it this year” or to do himself justice in an external (or internal) exam.

I’ll be happy if he comes out of this mess with his mental health and well- being in tact, with grades that reflect his potential.

I see the government are back to their old tricks of leaking stuff to the press rather than going about things properly.

They're a fucking clown show 🤡

You’re right.

And this may sound contradictory to my post above.

Even though my option 1 is still the middle ground (tier 2) of finding our way through this, with schools/businesses open abiding by strict protocols to keep us safe...

However, If a lockdown is needed because rates of infection are out of control, then for me, as much as this negates children’s education (although home/virtual learning has grown successfully since April) then this has to include schools.

I know so many teachers/children now who have tested positive (lots in the last fortnight). And some of those are/have been in hospital. If we are doing this to protect people and stop the spread of infection then schools should be part of the closures as well.

Why? It's been asked and answered on a daily basis for the past eight months. If you need still to ask it at this point, nothing I say is going to stop you asking it again in a months time.

66,000 excess deaths in the year to date. Hospitals filling up and deaths rising in sync with positive cases. It's a fucking massive coincidence if it's not COVID making people ill.
