Another 462 today, looks like we might be in the plateau stage they said we'd hit, as the numbers have been quite consistent for a week or so now

Heard a bit more detail on the numbers (yesterday I think) reckoned increases in younger generations were slowing, but in higher generations it was growing.

Might explain if deaths increase for a while before starting to fall as overall numbers come down.

Infections went from 22k to 30k in one day this week.
27k infections today. So based on 2 weeks to hospital 4 weeks for deaths. Numbers of deaths will still be going till Xmas.

Doesn't bare thinking about.

Crap excuse for a lockdown won't work

Dear me.

Death numbers were always going to rise.

However, daily test numbers well over 600,000 now (all pillars) and positive results not increasing proportionally. Indeed may be at plateau, therefore positive rate is falling.

Tier 3 was starting to work and lockdown will continue to do so.

Still think we'll be in tier 3 afterwards, (2 if we're very good) but things are moving in the right direction.

It's not the people showing symptoms that is the worrying part,

it's the ones who don't. They're the ones who are spreading it more. As people know to isolate when they show symptoms. For every 1 who ignores it, gets caught and fined, there will be 1000's who don't even know.

That's why the R rate and rate of positive tests are important. Even if they don't capture the asymptomatic ones, its still reflective of effect of measures.

Chuck in the mass testing programmes, and things will start getting better.

Remember the estimated infections per day previously (first wave) were higher than now, and the numbers were reduced dramatically.

Deaths and cases levelling off

Week on week infections up by 4K. So about 20%. Not sure we have levelled off yet.

Read somewhere that back in July Australia recorded 700 ish daily cases, roughly the same as us at the time.

Look where they are today and where we are.

I had an apple earlier. Think I might have an egg tomorrow and compare the two. Seems to be the trend
