Escobarp Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Only 3 tiers on sky news? Tier 3 is basically lockdown so are you saying that north west is going into new tier 3? In which case Jesus that’s grim Quote

No fun having a 'normal' Christmas and then spending January in ICU, or see businesses closed again. Fair point. I did speak with a neighbour who said she's going to travel to see her son down south irrespective of lockdown. Others intimated similar. Perhaps trying to ease things a little but still ask for some control. Maybe better then many fucking it off anyway. Don't know to be honest; suppose the answer is folk not taking the risk, and accepting things are different this year. Have a get together once the vaccine is flowing. Quote
gonzo Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Give people an inch over xmas they will take a mile. Christmas already turns people in raving lunatics as it is. Quote

Plus they’ll think allowing restaurants to open on Xmas Day at £60 a head might bring a smidge of goodwill from the hospitality industry. Quote

Agree with the 2nd sentence Problem is that if there’s v strict rules folk will treat it as if there are none - ie if breaking it will go all the way Whereas if there’s moderate ruling I think more are likely to stick to it Often the way with human behaviour. It’s the reason fad diets etc don’t work Anyway I think this Govt are utterly inept and massive shithouses but they can’t win on this one Quote

Ani Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Today’s numbers have extra deaths in due to a reporting error. But infections are seeming to be dropping on week on week basis. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Leverhulme test centre was very busy earlier today. Maybe just a particular moment, but cars queueing both ways to turn in. Quote
jules_darby Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 @royal white re the question you asked the other day Not a direct answer on suicides but some stats re mental health Good account to follow this guy for data Quote

They allocate a time slot, do say for example 11-12, they'll tell people to get there for 11. So near the start of a time slot it gets busy. That happened to us, took me about 20 mins to do my lads and it was really quiet by the time I'd done my own. We were there about 25 mins in total Quote
jmjhb Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Mass testing in Bolton sounds like a mass spreading event with the great unwashed Quote

Boby Brno Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Bolton now down to 42 in the National rankings of cases. All North West is also down. Hopefully, Tier 2 at worst on 2nd Dec. Quote
Winchester White Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Been to the test centre 3 times, each time I got there 10 minutes early for the hour slot and shot through in under 10 mins. Quote

This is the latest infection ratings by region. The North West was top for many weeks. The regional restrictions that affected the NW the most have obviously worked.
