Was hoping Warrington would be joining us in Tier 3 but no luck on that. Lost our deposit for Christmas Day meal out because they're still open and apparently it's our own choice to play by the rules

Graham Brady, just pointed out many areas across Greater Manchester have lower rates than Cheshire, Warrington, Liverpool, answer was just banal waffle.

Yep.

Well I’ve decided to escape the doom & gloom, PCR tests booked, Xmas day meal sorted. Booked, packed & fucking off.

Assume you are staying in Britain though? Surely you aren't off to lands governed by Brussels

Fucking pointless putting these southern areas into Tier 3 for three fucking days

Tier 0 the following weekend with families mixing

Hardly tier 0 is it

Literally nothing is fucking open for two days

Folk are carrying on like meeting a few extra people is like one big party

what are the restrictions in Spain, I presume they must be fairly similar to ours or are they a bit more relaxed?

So loosening London has fucked over the North

Anybody still buying this bullshit, have fun with it

Iamout

Hardly.

Kahn is doing a god job here saying London needs to pull together as a whole, The Northern boroughs have a much higher rate, but doing lockdon borough by borough is nuts

Same with Gtr. Manchester, can't have Trafford in Tier 2 and Stockport in Tier 3 etc etc etc

All larger conurbations need to be in Tier 3

EDIT: Northern borough ie North London Boroughs

We'll see early January, but I'd expect we'll see a massive spike, I know you disagree, because everywhere is shut, but I'm convinced once all the students are at home, they'll start spreading it.

Even though workplaces and hospitality are closed, I'm not convinced that's where the problem is, I think it's kids and students spreading it now. And in a few days time, they'll potentially be mixing with more people than they would be doing under todays restrictions

Quite relaxed where we are. Cases have dropped generally.  Curfew between 10pm and 7am. Everyone wears masks. All restaurants and bars open till 6pm, ( more relaxed over Christmas and New year). All shops open.

1pm curfew main nights Xmas Eve Xmas day etc, restaurants & bars 30% capacity indoors, 50% outdoors. Wear a mask, sensible distancing etc.

Exactly how it should be here.

And to add, I think the average thicko won't understand (or choose not to understand) what they're supposed to be doing. I know of somebody who is having his wifes parents and brothers family round on Xmas day, and then on Boxing Day he's going to his mums, and so is his brother and his family  -  clearly there is far too much mixing going on there

I've tried to explain why it's wrong, but he doesn't really give a fuck, and he really won't be alone, loads will be at it

Sounds reasonable enough, and at least you'll be warm if nothing else

We've already had exactly that situation a couple of months ago. And it might as well be that way in border areas - as posted earlier, our Christmas Day meal was booked at a restaurant not 100 yards over the border between Leigh and Warrington. They're open, but we aren't allowed to go

Just a hundred yards? - can they deliver it by drone?

Why they ask for proof of address?

Aye, but is there a point about city boroughs boundaries? Not say Leigh and Warrington, just in terms of simple numbers, commuting, offices, bars, demographics etc

I am not sure we should be copying Spanish rules. Surely we want to set our own rules.
