Carlos Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Seen Bolton Council coming in for some stick, this is on the money isn't it? Absolutely sleepwalking through the crisis. Fucking shit hot at hitting people parking around the town when the whole place is on it's arse, if only they'd put a small percentage of that into dealing with this, we'd maybe not in such an appalling situation. Someone has to answer for this, surely? Quote

Would an extra couple of weeks made a difference to the number of numb nuts though. No, but theoretically less of the virus could have been circulating in our community if we'd had a bit longer. In hindsight regional lockdowns would have been better, but they didnt know how it was going to pan out at the time. Quote

One thing I did wonder, was if this was a deliberate ploy, to ensure the upswing in cases (inevitable it seems) occurred before winter really sets in? Let people see the danger and accept further restrictions, rather than deal with it when all hell is breaking loose in flu season. Quote

Just hope this vaccine gets authorised in time for the old and infirm to get protection over winter. Quote

Spider Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Primary school in Notts has sent everyone home for 2 weeks after the headteacher tested positive. Massive, massive over reaction. Quote
ErnestTurnip Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Was that not the one where they just didn't have enough staff to open because they'd bubbled badly and other staff had to isolate or has there been another? Quote

There has been no study done, its taken from a finding that flu jab may increase exposure to other respiratory diseases in children. Other than that there is no study, no findings and no reason not to get a flu jab. I worry that things like this get spread and folk who should be getting a jab don't. Are kids getting the flu jab this year? Or spray? I bet having the flu increases vulnerability to covid in adults, a lot. Quote
