Liverpool as champs, Bolton/Southend/Stevenage all down, but the rest is contentious. What about teams with games in hand? What about teams less than 3pts apart yet to play each other? What about teams who have an easier run in than their rivals? The season HAS to be completed and if that means picking it back up in May and playing every 2 days, so be it. Season has 7 weeks to run, player contracts end on June 30th, so season can be resumed as late as mid-May. The latter is the best solution i’ve seen proposed so far, nice one Traf. Only stumbling block would be if Covid victims multiply by a few hundred thousand by April. Edited March 14, 2020 by Burndens Bogs

Walkden White
I just hope The Club is still around when things start again. Reduced football income, hotel bookings no doubt much reduced, expenses still to be paid out. There's no way FV's model can cope with that as I bet things were pretty tight anyway. marple whites
Any team near the top wants the season over as is, any team near the bottom doesn’t. you are never going to get a perfect solution that everyone agrees with. selfish - void season, we stay up, Leeds miss out on promotion, Liverpool miss out on the league and let the good times roll

Wonder what EFL will do ? Think the EFL might have a say in their division being reduced by 2 teams. The season will not start again in April every projection is for it to get worse before it gets better. So with the contract issue a full season won’t happen IMO. The problem will be every club will vote for their own interests. So the idea of right and wrong is almost irrelevant. Which also means a quick and easy solution does not work. The big clubs do not want 2 more teams in PL as it means more games. Voiding the season causes as many questions.
DavidLeesMullet
Don't get too excited if the league season is abandoned, the EFL will find some way to butt-fuck us as they've got a host of League 1 clubs pissed off at us that we apparently got off 'lightly' with a mere 12 points deduction. Agreed. As much as l'm hoping that we get a reprieve from a void season, i can't help thinking that the EFL would still find a way to sink us. I reckon if they reset the season back to the start of 2019-20 when Bury FC were members of the league - they were only voted out during the season - albeit they played no games - it might open the door to a supporters group to put a phoenix club straight back into league one - even if it has to go through the courts

Whatever happens it's going to run into the period when we're meant to stop before Christmas 2022 for the Qatar World Cup. A cup might have to go (all the excuse that's ever been needed to can the League Cup, for those who want to). FA Cup replays out, Nations League out, international friendlies out, maybe even a one off season where teams only play eachother once. They were meant to be starting "Europa League 2" soon as well. Too much football.

FML What’s happens if say Southend go into admin ? Assume they will be minus 12 too ? And if we start on -12 can we appeal to reduce the fine for missing games as the Doncaster game is now invalid ? The embargo also comes into question. If that is also extended we have missed out extra times as we missed out on players in the summer so have been punished. Not sure we can expect support/sympathy though.

ErnestTurnip
Kind of waiting for the Premier League chairmen to suggest we finish the current season and then the PL and Championship +4 become 4 leagues of 12 teams and everybody below that can just become what we now call non-league. snowball
we all want this season and our minus 12 points done and dusted. if voiding this season means starting on minus 12 and extending embargo bollocks to that. it really is a never ending nightmare! DomRepWanderer
Best solution I've seen is to fuck the cup comps off and start league later, and finish this season off in june and july

FML That's a tough one as technically if this season is voided, then the 12 point deduction and the embargo hasn't been served, but you could look at it that we'd be punished twice if we do (Oh feck I hope the EFL don't read this and get inspiration from it). Either way it looks like court cases will be in abundance, even before the season starts as then the other 23 clubs in league one will want to stick the boot in too. Anybody want to discuss something simpler like the meaning of life, the creation of the universe, the string theory or why do women go to toilets in pairs?
