You can't escape the fact that in the 2010 elections the now deposed (and living in Russian exile) Yanukovych's winning majority was gained in the east and Crimea with very few votes in central and western Ukraine. He was a violent and corrupt man and was removed from office in 2014.

to be fair, I think that the particular person claimed that May was the next Thatcher, not Truss, after then also getting Johnson (Churchillian) spectacularly wrong, he gave up making such ridiculous comments. Although I think there was a twitch of excitement at Penny Mordaunt carrying a sword, that almost brought about another "Thatcher" type comment.

We are, but it's what the people wanted, so we stick with them and vote them out in 5 years if they don't do a decent enough job. The sad thing is that I can't see the Conservative Party will have sorted themselves out in that time, so Labour may well get another term
