To be fair, I think he's said time and time again, that he's not on any side and that both sides have historically and presently acted in a twattish (for want of a better word) manner, and no doubt they will continue to do so for another 2000 years

In this instance, it's OK not to actually "support" either side, and you can condone the horrific actions of both - it's not football, you don't have to want a side to "win"

Sadly, this will escalate and escalate now, until one of the big boys, like Iran, step into the fray. As @gonzo, I think, said earlier in this thread, maybe the best thing will be for them to wipe each other out completely.

I wouldn't over estimate Irans capabilities. I don't think they are brave enough to step in full scale and they know the reasons why.
