It's an ace feeling after 3 days of nothingness Hopefully it kicks on and brings my senses back. Quote

BobyBrno Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 Nothing wrong with masks in my opinion. Of all the restrictions imposed on us, it has the least impact on our daily life. Quote
Rudy Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 Reviewing it a week before Christmas Oh fuck off Quote

RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 BioNTech, the company behind the Pfizer jab says it will know in 2 weeks if the new strain will require a new vaccine.... mmm now what odds would you get at Ladbrokes? Quote

waffer cup 07 Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 (edited) So as cases rise over the last couple of months to a daily level of between 30 and 40 thousand and deaths also increased, nothing, no restrictions, no mask wearing, nothing. Two cases of a new variant and red list re appears, masks become mandatory in shops ect and new travel restrictions, including PCR testing. Over reaction? what happened to freedom day . Common belief is that government has been slow to react on occasions. 2 cases will inevitably mean more are already here. A temporary uplift in restrictions by means of a mask whilst they get more understanding of the new variant is hardly the end of the world. Doing nowt then finding out the current vaccines aren't overly effective against it would potentially lead to more restrictions for longer. We've been having the best of things for a while now, certainly when looking at other similar nations. Asking us to wear a mask in a shop is no hardship. Don't have to wear one in the boozer etc. Whitty isn't overly concerned about omicron it seems, so a brief period of precautionary measures is fine. Quote

Wearing mask isn’t an issue but I do hope that’s not the thin edge of the wedge and it’s the start of new restrictions. Quote
ErnestTurnip Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 (edited) Is it not a nonsense of incredible proportions that I will have to wear a mask to go in Tesco for a bag of Wotsits but then walk out of there and be able go into 6 rammed pubs with no mask and onto an indoor gig with 1999 other unmasked people? Cases in the U.K. have been pretty consistent over the last 3 months. Cases in Europe have shot up. When was the European freedom day? Cases in Spain are also on the increase. What day do you want to bet that Spain will overtake the U.K.? I’ll bet you 50p (U.K. pence) that Spain will overtake the U.K. before Christmas. Quote

To be fair to bumblecunt and the government, it seems they've acted a quickly as possible this time. And masks are a piece of piss. Quote

However, the science was/is sound according to many (not all). By freeing up in summer and allowing a reasonably consistent amount of cases spreading we start to build up an immunity (together with the vaccines) that will allow us to better cope with the winter pressures on the NHS. I really hope this works Quote
