Given the number of tickets they'd sold, I'd have expected better. Sure it will improve. Quote

Concourse was very busy at 2.20 That was because you couldn’t get in anywhere for a pint so the only option was the ground. I was in at 2, I have never been in a ground so early. It was crap. Quote
MickyD Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 Maybe a question for Victor Meldrew: Is there a bar fridge which loads from the back? I honestly can't see anyone of the current bar staff getting their heads around keep losing and rotating bottles so you're only ever selling cold ones rather than the ones just restocked. Quote

Fill all the fridges up. Only take from one until it’s empty. When it is empty move onto the next one fill the other one up and you use that last Jesus if they can’t work that out then they may as well give up Quote

No way will they be disciplined enough to only use one fridge. Quote

Why not self scan and the turnstile opens? I know it'll only save a few seconds, but a few seconds for 2,000 people soon adds up. Quote
Horwich Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Can you imagine how many junior season ticket holders we would have if you could let yourself in 🙄 Quote

Leyther_Matt Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Concession checking generally happens when they have the hit squad outside a certain block of turnstiles for one particular game. In theory the current system is so that turnstile op can retain the card/ticket if it’s an adult using a kid etc, but that ship has sailed now that it’s on your phone etc so not actually handing anything over. Would cost thousands to go to an automatic system though (having literally finished doing tests this week on such an installation) Quote
Horwich Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 The hotel are getting some of those “pour from the bottom” pint things. Lets hope they appear of the concourses in the next 12 months Quote

L/H White Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 went to the epsom derby a couple of years back, they had them there, no mither to get served, work really well Quote
MickyD Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Thing is, we’ve been to a lot of grounds where different methods result in different levels of success. Tuesday at Lincoln; ambient temperature lager is very much a no-no. For the sake of a few bags of ice and a big plasterer’s bucket they could at least have chilled it. Barnsley always seem decent pre-game but then by half time are also serving room temperature. The decent grounds have half the staff just pouring and half selling. Like a conveyor line. That’s probably favourite for getting as many folk served in as short a period as possible. Quote

They were alright but you wasted a good pint a game pissing about with them or your mates shoving their finger up the bottom.... Of the pint Quote
