Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Each to their own, but as long as people continue to queue up and pay well over the odds for shit beer and food, I'm not sure the club will be that arsed. Stop using them, and the contractor gets very worried, and together with the club, sorts stuff out. We've discussed this many times on here, but possibly allowing an independent, local restaurant/caterer/brewery to have a kiosk or two, to serve their own food etc may be useful. Curry joint, chippy, pizza, tapas whatever, it becomes incumbent upon those companies to do things well to boost their sales on the day, and also back in their own premises. Personally, would live a rice n three type thing. Quote

Pay the club a fee to rent the space, whatever coin you make is yours. Lostock lane doesn’t even have the burger van anymore Quote

Lostock lane doesn’t even have the burger van anymore Don't forget the catering is in-house now, so it may depend on the deals they have with current suppliers - Molson might have exclusive pouring rights for the beer, Holland's might have a monopoly on pastry products, Mom's on burgers & hot dogs etc etc. They will all pay the club extra for that privilege, particularly given they are competing with options of KFC/Burger King/Maccies nearby. None of which are stopping opening Premier Suite and selling bottles of Coors Light FWIW. Quote
Kane57 Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 I remember when the Reebok opened you couldn't move for burger vans etc especially outside the East Stand. Quote
Horwich Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 I doubt the fanzone is a big earner in the grand scheme. Quote

Perhaps not, but sometimes you have to cater to the needs of your core support. I know everyone loves Sharon and Michael etc, but putting my name on a plastic board outside the ticket office is scant reward so far. Quote

For the price we're charged, the fayre on offer is poor. Quote
mickbrown Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 I've been going since the gaff opened and I've not supped one pint at the ground. It's over priced muck Quote

Horwich Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 I dont actually think that the fanzone is the answer. Maybe the club could look at opening some sort of sports bar. Not sure how long the north stand will be used as offices, now that everyone is working from home. Quote

JimmyRiddle Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 On the concourse why don't they just sell those aluminium bottles of lager like they do at US sports. Would shift loads, and quick; anyone know a reason why this doesn't happen. Surely bigger volumes mean more money for the contractor rather than pouring half of it down the drain? Appreciate this doesn't improve the overall experience but would surely help at halftime. Quote

Do Keoghs own the offices though? So potentially we could buy back? Or was it a third party that bought them off Ken / Eddie? Quote
