We have just battered a team tipped to be top 2

And I read on here that, let's see

Gordon

Sarcevic

Doyle

aren't good enough

Baptiste should be in for Johnstone

Calm the fuck down

They got lucky and their fans know it

I suspect the players know, too

Watched a different game to me.

Two poor sides on display today (and both teams are better than that)

Both teams cancelled each other out.

Which in itself says quite a bit about where we're at. Cancelling out a team expected to be at the top.

Still plenty to be pleased with.

Cancelled us out!! We played them off the park second half.

Boggles the mind Mounts. You won’t see a more one sided half all season

As good as we were second half, they seemed happy to sit back and try hit us on the counter, don’t blame them for if they’d seen some of our games trying to score against a low block.

Pissed off with that result because we deserved a draw and should’ve scored at least one today. Not throwing any players under the bus for the result

okay - go through the the mulititude of proper chances we created. Or the endless list of saves, last ditch clearances off the line they made. Or anything other than we played pretty possesion football, with no end product.

When we batter someone, or play them off the park, you start to wonder how we have not scored. Today it is a case of wondering how we have not created decent chances. Thats why they cancelled us out.

I'm not complaining about the performance, just trying to keep it in balance. We did not hammer anyone today, nor did we play anyone off the park. The only player less involved than our keeper was their keeper.

Both halves v Burton were surely more one sided?  And Cambridge 2nd half?  I didn't see that game, or today's, so I'm only going off reports and commentaries, but we must have played well if it was better than Burton.

Common denominator appears to be that we aren't too good at shooting or at winning headers in the opposition box, and that's not a moan just stating the obvious about where we need to improve.

Fine margins. We are a few players short quality wise. We need something else up top (Bakayoko back in first instance). I am still enjoying it and yes it's frustrating but still a lot to like and a lot to look forward to.

Agree.

Let’s just see if we are talking about margins after the next 2 games.

Both of them are currently in the bottom 5.

Its a results business at the end of the day.

We were at home that should be the case. Today we spent most of the game in their half. They went for long ball and counters and we were the away side

So I summary, virtually none of our players did anything, doubts that they're good enough for league one, but we've played the better football and Sunderland were shite.

It's all well and good complaining, but what do folk expect, we have little money to spend on players and wages. I'm sure if there was Evatt would have brought them in.

Fwiw, I don't think Sarc is necessarily producing his best because I don't think the midfield is balanced enough and perhaps he's lost some of his freedom.

We've lost narrowly to a team tipped by many to be at the top, and given a right good account of ourselves.

We're gaining respect and that augers well for the next window in attracting players who might be a bit better than what we have now. But until then this lot are doing pretty well.

It's frustrating, and the deficiencies are there, but so are the positives and we mustn't loose sight of that.

Stick with it, keep the crowds coming and help give Sharon some brass.

On  the revenue from 10,000 season ticket sales I wouldn't expect to have less points than Accrington Stanley

We battered a team who's goalkeeper could have been doing a crossword for most of the game for the amount we troubled him? We are neat & tidy but for the most part atm we are ineffective.

It's early days yet though & hopefully Baka will give us the presence up front we are lacking.

MJ mom again by a country me for me.

I find that genuinely puzzling, game after game I feel like the keepers are hardly involved.  Obviously credit to the defences partly for that.  If someone asked me if I rate Dixon as our No 1 for the next couple of years, I honestly couldn't say.  I normally make a fairly quick judgement on new signings but I don't have the evidence either way on Dixon, other than credit for not yet costing us a goal, which is a decent place to start from.

Frustrating is the word I'd sum that up with.

Play some decent stuff and create chances but can't fucking bury em.

The amount of crosses that go out with no one getting a head on or getting a toe on in the last few games is annoying as fuck.

I agree some of the players may be more league 2 standard but I don't see that being a massive fucking gap. It's league 1 for fucks sake.

The gap up to the championship is the one that's massive.
