Perhaps young Toby and Neil Hart aren’t actually singing from the same hymn sheet. You really can’t have Chairman’s son extolling the fantastic support from ESL and the CEO telling all who’ll listen the ESL is full of hoodlums and troublemakers.

Come on Sharon, which one goes, the newly appointed CEO or your wonderful son who you carried for nine months, raised as a wonderful member of society and someone who fills you with immense pride. Your call.

I don't think there's any conflict. The club clearly won't have a problem with supporters doing the Viking clap as a celebration.

They aren't mutually exclusive

Great they've added that anyone who doesn't claim their refund will have their money donated to a food bank charity. Right then,  dare then to claim now.

Harsh that..

Like Sunderland.. just can't accept they were out classed,  out played and out gunned..

So what they're saying is, we weren't good, they were just shite 🤔

Probably a bit of both tbf.

Its a good gesture but one that only small clubs can realistically do, hardly an option for Sunderland with 5k fans, cost wise and logistically.  If we were doing this it would be take your pick - which was worse, Fleetwood, Stockport, Plymouth, Burton? (we seem to save our worst for night games).   Not really a precedent you'd want to set.

30 staff refunding 300 fans, nice gesture but hardly a bank-breaker.

I feel sorry for the unused subs.

Me too, especially as some are probably on relatively low wages.  They looked a poor team but not that they didn't try, there was no dicking about at the back handing us goals, no stupid OGs, no pointless sending off, no penalties.  There will be some players in that camp that tried their tripe out and got kicked up and down by Santos or just beaten for pace by Fossey that won't be happy chaps having insult added to injury.
