I see where you are coming from but I’m excited not underwhelmed: The league isn’t as tough this year. Ipswich and Wednesday are gone. Sunderland the year before. We should actually be one of the bigger budgets now except for maybe Derby. Those that have come down all have issues. Reading have no manager and haven’t signed anyone. Wigan look like they’re losing players for free and have a points deduction and Blackpool … well who knows. They may have decent budgets but they’ll be looking to cut costs before the season starts not add to them. January signings haven’t had a pre season with us yet. Look what happened with Dempsey… first few months he was avg… then this season after a proper pre season learning his role tactically etc he’s been arguably our best player. I include Nlundulu in that. I think there’s a proper player in there - first half of the season at Cheltenham he had the best dribbling stats in the league. Plus we hopefully (!) have Bodvarsson back for a full season as we barely had him at all last season… and we are a much better team with him in it. Traff and Bradley are impossible to replace but Baxter is our player… and if he stays fit I think he could be the best gk in the league this season. Great pedigree and his save percentages etc playing for Hull in the league above were fantastic before he got injured. Unsure what’s happening with Wilson - has he failed medical? I’m sure we’ll have other irons in the fire if he has. We haven’t even looked at any loans yet at all. Haven’t really seen much of Baccus but the St Mirren fans are fuming so he must be half decent. I feel like we are taking it on a level this season (Traff and Bradley aside). A couple more and I really fancy us for autos.

The privatisation of water companies is a disaster. Absolutely no competition and piss poor regulation. If anyone can give a better appraisal, I am all ears.

    6. Don't watch European football. Don't watch much football outside our division to be fair. I'm a Bolton fan, not a football fan.
  11. An inspiration to us all 👏 my Facebook memory for today was running the guided busway in less than an hour for years ago. Not sure I’d even be able to stand up for the length of the busway nowadays on an actual bus.

  15. GK Trafford is 'impossible' to replace imo. He's got Burnley looking at him, so could be a Premier League player this season. No chance we get that quality again. Trafford made everything look so easy and caught almost every shot he faced, which I've never seen before. However, I'm sure Baxter is more than capable of doing a great job in League 1. So I reckon it'll be fine. DEF Defence needs little-to-no work for me. Wingbacks Excited by the prospect of Wilson/Cogley at RWB - assuming we get Wilson over the line. John and Randell need to improve on the LW and I think Randell has the better chance of nailing down the starting spot. Also Iredale might be an option there. Midfield This is the weirdest one for me. We have several players who can play comfortably in deep areas. Sheehan and Morley are both good playmakers from deep and can score from distance. MJ is good at defensive midfield. Thomason hasn't really got a particular role nailed down but is probably most suited to a deeper playmaking role again. That leaves Dempsey who is great box-to-box and could maybe play in the #10 role, but I think neither him nor Sheehan are perfect for that role. Now we're linked with Baccus and Flick who again, neither sound like #10s. They do sound like exciting prospects however, and like it would be a coup to get them, but I really hope we can sign at least one creative attacking midfielder. Someone that can be what Dapo was on the left wing for us, but in a central area. Someone that gets bums off seats, can do something unpredictable, score a goal out of nothing or take the game by the scruff of the neck. Forwards I'm slightly underwhelmed by the forwards/strikers situation. Didn't see enough from Dan, Victor or Jerome to be convinced that we will have enough firepower this season but I do trust Evatt to get the best out of them with a good pre-season.
  16. Fair play, you’ve been very consistent with this opinion and line of thinking. I really hope you are right, as it will make BWFC better in the short and (with It being a permanent deal) long term. I just thought with the way Trafford finished the season we had a real talent on our hands.
  17. With Bradley and Trafford having come on so much with us it's opened a door to loaning youngsters who are thought to be robust enough for the physical challenge of League 1 - I thought Shoretire wasn't yet. But moreover, because it's City and Liverpool that loaned the players, continental teams won't just dismiss our approaches any more and that could potentially give us a huge advantage over L1 and Championship clubs if we can further enhance our reputation in this niche market. Obviously we don't want to depend on loanees but there must be some cracking youngsters at the bigger clubs across Europe that could potentially elevate our performances and I'm starting to think we're ahead of the game in getting access to them and it would be great if the likes of Bayern, Real and Inter start to take us seriously.
  18. I think we should all wait and see what squad we end up with because there’ll obviously more incomings yet and possibly a few leaving. I accept that Traf and Brad will be difficult to replace though to be fair Traf benefitted from a good defence and Brad was great going forward but I often thought his final ball was often lacking. So whilst they were both unquestionably good players I don’t see them being quite as difficult to replace as some others do. If we do sign Baccus it will be a real bonus and it looks like we will so bring it on. More difficult for me will be replacing Kieran Lee, someone who has the class and composure to affect games. Alfie May could do it as could Flick if we can get one or the other, or even both, but otherwise I’m sure IE and CM have others lined up. Sometimes the biggest signings are the most difficult as they have other options so we may have to wait but I’m entirely confident that when that whistle goes we”ll have a title winning squad to get behind.
  19. We’re about 6 weeks off the league starting and players will only just be getting back off their holidays. Calm down - it looks like a solid start but I reckon we could see 4 or 5 more including loans.

  21. 🤣 To think anyone would bite on that. Only the most cuntish of clubs in England would have that rebellious fucking hypocrite on their books (happy to take the kings shilling eh?). Enter Wigan Athletic. Certainly meet the criteria for most cuntish.

Come on now. Tell the fucking truth. Discussion ranged around full benefit taking from a decade to half a century (and that was without the subsequent actions of staunch remainers running maximum interference). You know this. Just a bitter dose of remainia coming to the fore again. It's the ditherers and the resistance who have slowed progress down. Treacherous in my book.
