  1. 5 years on from my original OP, and ive not posted for yonks, so thought id share my lads journey here. after the original question about fleetwood, the lad (now 15) had 12 months at burnley (amazing setup) but released. Then straight into preston for 12 months (not great). Feedback from both was the same, not hungry enough and not selfish enough (whatever that means) that hurt him alot, went back to his original grass roots for 12m at euxton, then joined a JPL club, chorley. Was wary of JPL as heard a lot of stuff about dream chasers and "not an academy", ideas of grandeur etc, but honestly the step up from grass roots was huge. started playing district footy, and again then moved him up a level. anyway 2/3 years later, and confidence regained and after rejecting trials at wigan and bolton!! he was offered a trial at oldham. 4 weeks there and got offered a 2 year contract which he signed about 6 weeks ago. not gonna lie, 1 hour down the m61 3 or 4 times a week is serious commitment, but he's enjoying it. next target is a scholarship. and after watching the oldham reserves this week, he's not far off making a first team appearance. 🤣

  3. The files were sealed by a Judge during Ghislaine Maxwell's trial. They were unsealed in January 2024, but there were on-going legal processes that prevented their full release. I hope they release the lot, unredacted, and every fucker in them gets what's coming to them, regardless of who they are or what side of the political fence they claim to sit on.

  4. Aye The 92 change every year as well by two clubs too There should be no reason you have to visit a new ground if you've been to an old one Otherwise the "92" is a game that's only open to virgins and gimps who go watching teams that aren't there own And that's not an achievement

  7. which is why it irks when they get called "muslim grooming gangs" or "asian grooming gangs" those lads from blackrod didn't get labelled a "white grooming gang" or "christian grooming gang" becauase it's not relevant but when crimes get reported in a certain way, that's how perceptions are made, so when a lad stabs people on a train or outside a college in bradford, people just assume it's a muslim, get annoyed, then just laugh it off when it turns out not to be

  8. Except as of this moment, there is no "reality of it". It may be screwed up over there, and is increasingly so over here, but until charges are brought and a conviction obtained then the only reality is rumour and circumstantial evidence. The point I made above. Your post suggests you know differently- pass that knowledge onto his opponents. If there was irrefutable evidence, they would reveal it, so I'm sure they would welcome it. They will have to keep digging to find it though. It may be there, it may not be.

  11. It has been going on for decades, and has been known about for decades. It is so common, and is endemic in certain cultures. Not all Muslim cultures clearly- but within the Pakistani communities in particular. In some mosques/educational establishments the indoctrination is common- we have all heard/seen reports about them. There is plenty of stories/reports out there, with whistle blowers on occasions speaking out. Which takes great courage. The whole culture is different, and trying to apply our thoughts and attitudes towards them simply doesn't work.

  12. I don’t think anyone has suggested they all know. But I’d guess many do. Similar to many in our communities know who the local drug dealers are

  14. Mandelson and Andrew got sacked/dismissed/decrowned by the weight of public opinion. Trump still seems to have a lot of support so can tough it out. He was a billionaire in New York and has made it clear that he shagged about and used his money and privilege to aid this. As much as I dis like the man I can see very little to kick him out as president here. He knew something was going on and asked them to stop will be seen by some his supporters as ‘doing something about it’ . Whereas most of us would say turning a blind eye and letting them get on with it is aiding and abetting. If the full files come out I daresay there will be a lot more high profile names in there.

  15. It's only screechers like you that are bothered. The rest of us normal folk just want someone in charge who can make us win something. Nothing else matters. After the first couple of games I thought it was a poor appointment, but I'm happy to admit that after the last few games I may well have been wrong. The proof, as always, will be when we actually compete in a tournament.

  16. In the last couple of games not only have we got ourselves right into the mix, but the opposition look less impregnable. I'd assumed Cardiff would be the team to beat, and they might still be, but they looked one paced here, and the Blackpool defeat didn't do anything to suggest it was a one off. Only scored 6 goals away and 4 were in injury time, Salech's got 3 of them all after 95 minutes! Its currently there for the taking and that's not to underestimate any team because every game is a test. Especially at those little grounds where it can look like a different sport at times compared to playing at home (or Huddersfield).

  17. There's so much changed in less than a year about the place. Nothing wrong with the attitude or moral here these days. That other bloke has a lot to answer for. He set us back two years.

  18. Not sure what for but if it makes you feel happy consider it issued. Illuminating that you and other 'I don't consider myself a leftie' comrades on here spend so much time contemplating minutae about the man. It's almost as though you have accepted the inevitable?

  32. Been saying it for years should just play him behind a striker who actually stays up front and let him do what he wants. The amount of times we got caught in the Euros with him drifting about 40 yards behind play with no cunt up front was infuriating 🤣

  42. Yep, it's my mate Eric. That's at the airport picking up his mate Dave. Coincidentally something I was about to do but the Dave coming down to us is from New Mills, not Oswaldtwistle like Erics visitor. Our erstwhile potential visitor has had to change plans due to flight availability and ticketing issues. Father in law of my Evertonian nephew. There are plenty of us here. There's a pathology lab close by where the head honcho has the registration plate BOLTONFC. There's a WANDERERS plate I have seen from time to time with BWFC stickers in the rear window. A Vespa PX200 with BWFC number plate. There's even a bloke in my general vicinity who has BWFC paraphernalia on some of his vehicles. I talk to him regularly. The missus says it's a bad habit.
