  2. On tight pitches it seems a tall order to play two wingers , I think two strikers a better option with maybe ACD given license to roam . Having said that you need good fullbacks & yesterday we had crap ones. After the first fifteen minutes nothing stuck up top , Burstow struggling a bit form wise didn’t help. Thing is we’ve been here before against more direct teams. In that respect it was a good point however there are plenty teams in this league who go direct .Midfield have to gobble up second balls , that didn’t happen yesterday so a more flexible approach is required including three in the midfield or two up top depending on the opposition. Two wingers away from home shouldn’t be mandatory.

  3. If it was up to most of our fans we'd need an entirely new squad for every away match

  4. Need to keep the momentum going now in these cup competitions but with some of the fringe players/players coming back from injury playing. We've not lost in our last 5 league games and took 11 points from Huddersfield away, Cardiff at home, Port vale at home, Bradford at home and Luton away. With exception of Port Vale, all of those teams will be in and around the top 6 and some of them are promotion favourites. To not lose against any of them and get over 2 points per game in those fixtures is very encouraging. Keep the momentum going now.

  5. He’s just said medicine prices are coming down by 500%. Which means that if you currently pay $200, you’ll now get free drugs and the pharmacy will give you $1,200 as you leave the shop. if he’s managed this, then I will wear a MAGA hat.

  7. Tried to be Chancellor, she thought she could be head honcho she didn't realise that the boss has to look at the information, analyse and make a plan... see it, say it, sort it. Her spreadsheets weren't working out owing to the fact we're all not working hard enough, and she panicked and called a very, very unusual press conference telling everyone to prepare for a taxation rogering. What she didnt figure out is the financial report already on her desk telling her tax receipts were better than expected meant the increase in direct taxes would be unnecessary and as result she is now looking bit of a fool. Basic stuff, but she couldn't see the wood for the trees... not enough to resign, but it is another sign that she is in over her head. Head of OBR went today, which should help her in deflecting attention.

  11. When I was a kid we'd play war games, shooting each other with imaginary guns. For the woke amongst us we called it 'Japs & English'. A 'best dead' competition would be included for the kid who died in the most dramatic way. It seems Chelsea have revived that. We've all seen diving & flopping about increase for decades but this season's Chelsea have taken it to new lows, developing a 'fish out of water' technique on full desplay yesterday. So much so that it's clear they must practice it in training.

  18. Tbh I’m not exactly convinced that this is necessarily a ‘good thing’ unless focussing purely on exports which is ‘good’ obviously In fairness the US massively overpays for prescription drugs thanks to their health system so it’s actually a surprise that he’s agreed to it as they (in very, eye simple terms) allow the rest of the world to pay a lot less for theirs This is actually quite a good summary of the situation https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn0k520v4xro.amp There’s two big problems I foresee 1 The NHS will pay more for drugs and NICE will approve more new medicines. When staffing and services are in crisis due to lack of funding who will decide (and how) where the priorities are and where will this funding come from? 2 UK Pharma pay massive rebates on branded drugs (way more as a percentage than other countries) on top of other ‘taxes’, price reductions, etc. known as VPAS. Companies now are debranding some of their drugs to get out of this VPAS scheme as it’s unsustainable so that’s one source of income falling away There’s so much more to unpick but it would take pages so I’ll leave it there Its a win for Starmer, so well played, but I’m sceptical to say the least

  19. Only just had chance to properly listen to this, couple of my all time favourite trance tunes in there Suburban Train (unsure if it needed to be mixed with Fair, but still decent!) and Universal Nation. Looks like hes enjoying himself too 😀 What a forgotten gem Ratty - Sunrise is too, just gone and found the club mix for a few listens. Absolutely mint from the artists also known as Scooter 🔥🔥

  20. The other strikers at the time were Charlie Warren and Big Dave. It's inconceivable that we weren't going to sign anyone else until Dalby got injured.

  22. whilst Burstow hasn't scored in 6, Dempsey didn't play in 3 of those, and against Port Vale, they were on the pitch together for 3 minutes

  25. Isn’t the cap removal good in the fight to stop Britain becoming muslamic and help prevent the predicted population crisis. You used to hear the odd person moan about funding of things like Schools when they don’t have kids etc. Nowadays it certainly seems the majority. You have to be fairly miserable to be upset by stuff like this. Also if it’s so good then why don’t we all jack our jobs in😂

  26. You've lost the plot if you think Dalby, Forss or Burstow are being ushered out. Amazing what an away draw against a promotion rival does to peoples brains.

  30. At last somebody who can read a game ...Everything about what you are saying is correct. Our full backs need to defend and not worry about pushing up at these places. Erhahon and Simons with Either Dempsey or Sheehan alongside. ACD free role and Forss and Burstow up top. 4/3/3 every away game and the current 4/2/3/1 at home

  31. JDC wasn't brought in to be a full back in a 4 and isnt one. He can get away with it most weeks, but for me there are occasions where he gets targeted and exposed by sides hitting big diagonals and big lads challenging him at the back post. Christie better against such sides but struggles yet to see 90 mins out in a high octane game. Toal and Johnston have been tremendous last few weeks at holding everything together, and, to our credit, we've ended up only letting one goal in across two tough games, but we're less convincing in the full back spots, not helped in some games / situations by having inverted wingers whose forte isnt tracking back and winning tackles (albeit they're trying their best at it). Conway could do with a rest and Taylor play a run of games so he can be judged as a genuine LB competitor, up to now there's not been much to go on.

  35. I'll be pleased for Dalby (or Forss or McAtee) if he scores a couple in the cup games, but he'll be on the bench at Mansfield whether he scores 5 or none. And he'll come on at Mansfield for the last 15 or 20, and that's the football he'll be judged on. Same as every other cup game v other teams reserves and/or L2 teams in the last few years, I'm sure it feels good for the players to have good games, but us fans will judge them on the games that matter in the weeks that follow.

  38. Absolutely, that's what he does. He will have to be careful though, as he has started a degree of alienation from Europe that is directly affecting his defence industry. I think his legitimate push for Europe to chip more in re defence spending, has also opened some eyes as to what his motives might be directly with regards to Ukraine and Russia. Some uncomfortable revelations about his entourage and their relationship with Russian individuals don't make for good reading. He is also losing support at home. Many of them actually support Ukraine and want America to do more. Then there is the business of the Trump watches that haven't materialised, and the crypto crap that has seen the value plunge, which has furrowed the brow of many an investor. As much as I think he's done some good things for his nation: immigration, a resetting of trade deals for example, I suspect there are revelations that whilst not likely to cause his direct demise from office, are likely to strongly weaken his support. Should this happen, then his Maga movement will quickly look to move on to a successor.

  39. Jesus wept. Dalby's been unlucky in the timing of his injury / missing pre-season / Burstow's performances restricting him to cameos. Plus the game situation on a few of the recent times he has got on hasn't suited - he wins his fair share of headers but nobody anywhere near him to pick up the pieces. Lad'll be desperate to impress and stake his claim, and that probably doesn't help. I reckon he'll be fine, just needs a little patience. That said, I'd want to see him grab the chance Tuesday / next week when he should get back-to-back starts.

  40. Cardiff are at 2ppg. Stevenage are at 1.93ppg. I'm obviously not saying we're adrift, but this team have been hypothetically top of the league since September and yet in real life we're still 6th. In 10 games time I'd like to see us right up there for real, not harking on about how we're one result away (if we ban everyone else from playing a game or two) or that teams with more points don't count (because Bet365 don't rate them). And if we are top two in ten games time, we'll have had much better results along the way than a draw against a middling Luton side. That's all I'm saying about it not being a 'good result' in isolation, it's only worth anything if it's a precursor to better ones.
