Our style of play with fast wingers and Bellingham surging forward would've been just fine. It was working. We were 1-0 up and their full backs were shit scared of our attacks. Both Center Backs were on cards and they'd just spent 45 mins trying to kick lumps off us they were that worried. All we had to do was batten down the hatches for 20 minutes while they inevitably piled on the pressure. Messi in every game this tournament has spent the last 30 mins drifting right. He was always going to drift there last night. All we had to do was get some legs on and cover that right side. But the absolute fucking lunatic lost his fucking mind and chucked 13 center backs on and took any pace or legs we had out the team. It was complete suicide and his head should roll. Why is Mainoo there if in a game we are playing defenders in midfield ? If we need an out ball why no Watkins or even Saka ? Watch the first goal , a short corner and we only have one player outside the penalty area, they knock it about and pass it to bloke 20 yards out and no one is near him. Players playing out of position in a formation that they looked like they did not understand. It is a WC semi they will have good players if you give them time and space they will punish you, they could have at least before they scored, hit post twice and save from Pickford, all from balls from our left but still had no one near the ball. But I’ve heard countless times from FH and SS that we will be targeting Champ quality players/loans towards the end of the window, because that’s just the nature of the situation. The alternative would be rushing to sign the wrong players just to have them in place for the 8th August. Your utopian scenario of having everything sorted and in place now just isn’t realistic and you do seem to have the same gripe every summer transfer window 😊 Have a little patience.

You only need to look at concert prices or the World Cup to see how things can spiral. Fans justifying it, or not caring because it's just fleecing rival fans, are missing the point imo. We - as match-going football fans - will all get fucked in the end. There's more than enough money in the game not to be charging £36-40 in the second tier.

Our problem now is that we have no striker coming through when Kane winds down. Bellingham et al should get better for the next one, but the difference having a world class striker makes is huge, and this is likely the last one we’ll have it for. Tuchel blew our best shot by turning us into a L1 team playing city in a cup game once we went ahead, it really is as simple as that.
