When you look at it like this, I realise that for the most past, I’m only desperate for promotion so we keep hold of players (including potentially Maghoma), and for the additional funds that playing in the Championship brings. While the standard down here is bad and you get too many teams spoiling games, it’s great being one of the bigger boys. Stockport, Mansfield and Wrexham all promoted. I’d do all of them aways. Few more that still need ticking off too. 15.5k season ticket holders tells you the fanbase is enjoying Evatt’s tenure. And I still hope we keep hold of him as long as possible.8 likes

Took my lads Manchester United-supporting mate with us today. His dad takes him to Old Trafford a couple of times a season, but he's going to ask if he can have a season ticket at the ToughSheet when he gets home. 😁6 likes

Reform? The lunatic fringe of conservative politics? Had you been championing a party closer to David Cameron/ George Osborne style Tories (even though I don't agree with them politically) I might have thought you wanted something beneficial for the country and a return to sensible politics. Reform are no more a sensible political choice than the Communist Party. Just gobshites stirring up pointless culture war bollocks the same as that twat in the lala land thread just coming from the other end of the political spectrum.5 likes

Seems like the final average attendance for this season was 21080. Second best in the league behind Derby. From memory it was just shy of 19,000 last season. It's bloody impressive stuff. For most of my BWFC supporting life I'd never have dreamt we'd average that in a third tier season.5 likes

Fuck me, some of the negativity on here is nothing short of embarrassing. We ALL know the likelihood of us being promoted today is virtually zero ... But there IS a chance. ... But we have folk stating as if it's a fact that it won't happen. Almost as if they don't want it. Miserable cunts.4 likes

People get too obsessed with the “ he’s not English he’s Turkish “ or whatever. that’s not the point, he’s a saint , the Patron saint of England ,it’s a religious day so the day is celebrated in England , and should be . Jesus wasnt English but there’s loads worship him in England religious festivals don’t hold the same party style celebrations in Protestant cultures generally historically due to idolatry, so would be more refined service rather than marching around with statues etc and wild parties , probably why St George’s day traditionally a bit low key along with the fact England and the English nationality had never really been under threat or the under dog so the need to demonstrate who they are was never felt required as it was with other nations , Ireland and st Patrick’s day is a good example of the difference there being the exact opposite. ( though the pubs used to be closed on st Patrick’s day and it was the diaspora gathering started the drinking reputation for the day) maybe people feel their culture is being taken away more these days, whether that be immigrants, “ wokeism” or whatever and want to demonstrate they are still English maybe people want to show there still an England even if the England they are celebrating never really existed anyway , more one they want to exist , who knows National days are usually independence days too, which England has never had nor needed to celebrate. end of the day, people being patriotic, having a few beers and celebrating what they perceive as good about England , no matter what they’re dressed in is no harm , as with everything it’s the line between being proud of where you are from and hating anyone not from where you are from that get blurred with some .4 likes

Give over. Another negative swipe at our players. Peterborough paid £1m plus add-ons for Szmodics before selling him to Blackburn at a profit. We paid just over £300k for Charles, nobody was expecting him to be Szmodics-standard. Fuck all wrong with what we got for £300k.4 likes

Does that mean that you and Spider will now refrain from commenting on Biden and Trump? Seeing as neither of you are Yanks. I would hate to think that either the orange one or the senile one are living rent free in your heads.4 likes

It’s bit like the Broken Windows theory in criminology, though. if the kitchen comment barely sends a ripple, what about a slightly more serious comment or offence; and so it perpetuates. I’m hardly a “snowflake” type, but respect for referees at all levels but, especially, at grassroots level, should and must be enforced.3 likes

On the face of things, Coventry stood little chance of making the FA Cup Final, but could win their last 4 league games and sneak into the play-offs. Should they have accepted a Wembley defeat before a ball was kicked and played a weakened team? Of course not, keep your eyes on the prize and whilst it's still there, you have to go for it. Play our best team and if Derby at 2-up at HT, we make 5 subs.2 likes

Spot on there Swanny. I've mentioned this before on here, but I've a family member who felt from the age of about 8 that things "weren't right". Started male, and once old enough, commenced the long, in-depth process of changing. Psychological analysis, pre-op living as a woman etc before final surgery. A long difficult process achieved without great fuss, ridiculous posts on pillock-tube nor exhibitionism/activism. Quite happy to refer to her as she/a woman now. Also have one (maybe two) others now who rant/screech about what they are. Strange how all their close friends are of the same group think, gripped not just by the fashion of the day, but by the dangerous over the top pandering by too many. In years to come we're going to see what a fuck up some have made; the shocking practices in the Tavistock clinic and numerous cases of bizarre decisions leading to job loss, harm and anything in between. Hopefully the Cass report is the first step on that road. Unfortunately, there are plenty in politics and positions of authority that aren't happy about it, and will take some shifting.2 likes

St Patrick wasn't born in Ireland. Yet no bugger seems bothered. Countries all over the world celebrate their nation/culture in all manner of ways, and are happy to do so. Only the usual progressive group-thinkers telling folk what they have to believe, how to think and to be anti-English as that's the only way to atone. I've not put a flag out, been to a party or done anything specific to the day, but it doesn't mean I look down on those that have. All the best to them.2 likes

I'm with @Cheese on this. If BWFC put anything out about the KO time of the final then it looks extremely arrogant and will be something screenshotted and reposted many, many times if we don't get there ... and would most definitely be pinned on the dressing room wall of whoever we play in the semi. As things stand it isn't a fixture with any relevance to us, However, it wouldn't do any harm for them to contact the EFL and ask them to clarify things,2 likes

It wouldn't The club could just say semi finals are at this time, final at that time No arrogance whatsoever2 likes

Both likely to get CL football next season due to the 5 maybe 6 qualifiers. Lazio may have something to say about Roma though yet. Bologna have been brilliant this season and Ferguson was being looked at for some big moves till his injury.2 likes

Right this Jewish guy was not out for a random stroll round London he was there to provoke and get a reaction to make a point, the Police have fallen for it hook line and sinker. Tommy has done the same a couple of times, including one with his kids, where even some of his supporters thought he went too far. The full exchange with the copper lasted 15 minutes and the copper fucked up by his words for about 10 seconds of that exchange. Amazed how het up people get about this.2 likes

From the BBC website...... In the original video clip shot at the march, the police officer said: "You are quite openly Jewish, this is a pro-Palestinian march. "I'm not accusing you of anything but I'm worried about the reaction to your presence." Seems sensible enough to me. Trying to keep the peace and protect this guy from possible harm.2 likes

I don't think he's physical enough for this league TBH, in general play, but obviously his goal record makes up for that, certainly away from home and against the lesser sides. But what I would say if we were playing better sides and playing more on the break, like we've seen in cup games v Villa, Boro and Luton and arguably at Wembley v Plymouth, he has that ability to find the space that can give him a tap in. He scored in all 4 of those games with virtually identical goals from close range, they aren't the goals we generally see in home league games where the opposition defend en masse. So I could see a role for Charles in the championship (more so than Vic), but clearly we'd need to recruit as well.2 likes

Exactly where I'm at. Promotion, mid table, Play off, play off, Most fans in the league would love to have a manager achieve that!2 likes

Police officers having to make snap decisions in the moment and being recorded and scrutinised every moment. It's not footballers who have 90 mins a week to get it spot on, its 40+ hours a week. Lets him past and it all kicks off, he's at fault. Tries to stop them, uses the wrong word, no idea what he might have said instead "Sorry Sir you are clearly Jewish and heading over there might invite trouble at this particular time". Going to end up with no coppers left, because the level of accountability in public service has gone barmy.2 likes

Imagine being Oxford, Blackpool, Lincoln, Barnsley a.n. others and drawing Bolton in the playoffs. We're the best team in places 3-6 and we'll prove it. Could do without the 500 note layout on a Wembley day out though. COYWM bring it home2 likes

I've really enjoyed this season Paul. Ok, it looks like we are coming up just short again, but we've had some great crowds with fantastic atmospheres, seen the good the bad and the ugly of our Whites 🤣. All in all, not that bad. Season ticket sales suggest we'll be getting great crowds again next season, whatever division we're in.2 likes
