Site Supporter Spider Posted February 6, 2023 Site Supporter Share Posted February 6, 2023 Grim stuff going on there. Saying anywhere from 3-10k dead. Some of the tower blocks had over 1,000 people in them and are flattened.

Members Lt. Aldo Raine
There's a TV presenter on Channel 4 just now reporting 150 miles from the epicentre and all that can be seen behind here is rubble Terrifying
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 6, 2023 Site Supporter Share Posted February 6, 2023 I've experienced a couple of tremors before- once wilst in Lancaster and a longer/ small series in Manchester at work. All the computers went off with the latter, and the high roof with glass panels rattled like buggery. They were tiny on the scale, so something 6 or 7 orders of magnitude larger must be shit scary. stevieb
Remember the Manchester one. After being a student but still living the dream. I thought some cunts I lived with had started shaking my bed as some lame bants at 2am. I quickly posted a "I've marked myself safe from a mild earth quake in Rusholme" Post on Facebook. jayjayoghani
Was in a similar magnitude and depth EQ whilst living in Christchurch. Epicentre was 60 miles away but it was still pretty frightening. 2 people died btw. Its almost like structural engineers can prevent catastrophic loss of life. Wanderlust
Amongst those pulled from the wreckage in Turkey was Christian Atsu who used to play for Newcastle, Chelsea, Everton and Bournemouth. Not hearing as much out of Syria where I imagine the loss of life is horrendous. Death toll already 5k but I think it will go 30k+ overall. That place is hell on earth and forgotten about.
