I thought the second was ridiculous because it bounced against him. Secondly their second goal came about after a shocking decision; it was never a foul and Dion would have been through on goal. Our laborious build up play is becoming a concrete suit , not one player is prepared to risk breaking the mould apart from Thomason who just isn’t good enough to be that influential, his replacement Morley merely went through the motions .The tactical inflexibility is firmly Evatts responsibility & he has to improve our tactics during games , easier said than done I know . Cogley without Jones’s prompting is ineffective & Williams needs to grow a pair because he has the ability to get behind the defence. Actually felt sympathy for Charles & Victor who got shite service. The reality is we’re not that good or not as good as Evatt thinks we are. ok injuries have played a part & I still reckon we just need to cling on to top six or seven until January, which will be pivotal for the whole Evatt project. People see game differently I usually think Sheehan is terrible, today he was the only one other than Baxter that was better than a 1 out of 10. Maybe a 2 or 3. Morley looks like any confidence has gone , came on as a sun today and was still anonymous . He got bullied in the air by a 35 year old 5ft 11 Joe Garner. Then leading to the 2nd penalty, he stupidly gave away a throw in via an awful mistimed pass, then miss hit a clearance to give away a corner, then from the corner in the clearances, he handballs it and gives away a penalty. A calamity hat trick of consecutive mistakes in the space of a minute. A word that I think sums up our team and this instance from Toal - Self-destructive. He is non existent, been out the squad and then when he comes on there's no presence. I would argue he's our least effective midfielder, he doesn't score many or provides, he doesn't get stuck in or work as hard as Thomason or Dempsey, he doesn't control and dictate the play like Sheehan. His set prices are also atrocious (although our abysmal corner kick taking applies to the rest). But the fact he scores an odd wonder goal, gives him his own song and praise. The only benefit for him coming on for Thomason, meant that Sheehan played deeper and controlled the game much better, albeit we still lost.
