Apparently Evatt urged him to go up for the corner - madness.

Anyway, whether it was 1-2 or 1-3, it was still an embarrasing sack of shoite.

That shows desperation. No need. Most accept 1-2. When 3rd went in - ground emptied

Also, what even is the point of Morley? He is non existent, been out the squad and then when he comes on there's no presence.

He's a major conundrum for me. There's been times when I've had him down as captain material, taking pressure penalties or hitting those shots from range where he cuts across the ball.

And then he's absolutely anonymous, literally just a man in a shirt.

And we have too many of those at present

Baxter’s late rush to the penalty box came in the 93rd minute, with another three guaranteed to be played by referee Seb Stocksbridge.

Evatt confirmed it had not been his decision to send the keeper up.

He said after the final whistle: “We are concentrating on the taker and where the space is going to be to score a goal but then the next thing I see, Nathan is on the edge of the box. He has made that decision, it was a rash one, but we will learn from that now. It won’t happen again.

“Nathan, in particular, was one of the only players to walk off with any credit.”

Like @gonzo says you’re a cracking lad like a few other non-Evatt believers.

But don’t get too angry with those who still believe in Evatt. I agree with Gonzo

I don’t think anyone was happy or content with today and criticism is granted.

But I don’t think we are deluded or wiping Evatt’s jizz from our chin 🤣

I stated earlier there’s no defence for that today. Evatt and the squad need a big response.

But there’s no point falling out. Think we all need to stick together

No falling out mate I’m all vented out😀

Maybe this break has come at the right time yes you want to play another to rectify it but players/fans can take a break from it, @gonzo just frustrated fella

Fairy muff.

Rush of blood from Baxter then.

I think after seeing roughly a quarter of the season now I'm juat so disappointed. We're simply not good enough and squad strength, style of play and mentality is way worse than last year.

-the squad is unquestionably weaker. Strikers we've lost kachunga and not replaced, midfield same with Lee and MJ, wingbacks aren't as good. Only really defence and goalie you can say we have a better squad but losing Johnston was a blow. Overall though, the squad recruitment has been dire and removed anyone who doesn't fit in rigidly with Evatts system. We're crying out for a Dapo type who will try to make something happen, instead it's all rigid system play

-style of play has regressed. We're not even bossing possession against teams these days, and when we do like yesterday we have no idea what to do with it. The wingbacks seem under instruction to not cross it in and it's killing us

-mentality is weak as. Last season we were the ones getting late goals and tiring teams out. We seem knackered by the second half this year and nervously hanging on if we're ahead. We think we're better than we are and other teams come into games pumped up and outfight us

All in all an absolute shambles to end up in this position versus last year from manager and recruitment team

While I can't believe the vitriol unleashed after this, admittedly disappointing result, this is a point that I can't shake off. I thought, considering our fitness and style of play, that we would be scoring goals in added time week after week but it seems that we just have nothing to offer once Charles tires or is substituted.

I still can't help but think back to where we were when Evatt took over and contrast it with where we are now, it seems impossible to me to not credit him with the huge progress in our club. I also think back to the promotion season from this division under Rioch, we were really struggling at first and it took an amazing late run to get over the line, I suspect something similar this season. Excuse me while I go and wipe Evatt's spunk from my chin.

I don't understand people questioning Baxter Going up. There’s a couple of mins on the clock and we are losing at home to Carlisle. I’d be more pissed off if he hadnt gone up.

Agree. We’d have the lost the game regardless. I’m amazed Evatt dug him out after an MOM performance. He makes it 2-2 I guarantee it wouldn’t have been Baxter off his own back. I’m calling that as bollocks. Poor man management.

Can't score if you don't shoot

I know he has his style of play, but from time to time you really have to force the issue and make something happen FFS

3 shots on target for 69% of the ball is shocking

I guess I'm in agreement with you. What happened to the team that frequently scored late goals? Because that was a feature of Evatt's sides up until recently. The longer match times would suit that side

Tbf mate it is not just about yesterday , as a ream for the first time under Evatt and FV the team has gone backwards.

We are making the same mistakes week in week out and do not seem to have an idea how to change it. What do they about people who do the same thing but expect a different result.

@tomski @royal white  agree with you both - I didn’t have a problem with him going up.

But I disagree that Evatt has said the wrong thing in the media. If he’s asked the question about whether it was his decision, he’d look a bit silly if he lied!

And he goes on to say “Nathan, in particular, was one of the only players to walk off with any credit.”

Was saying this yesterday, his whole ethos is about working the opposition, keeping the ball, finding gaps, moving them across the pitch in the hope that in the latter phase of the game they’re tired and/or lose concentration from our apparent pressure

But I would love to see the stats on how many late goals we score.. because my assumption is it will be very very low.

defensively I’d love to play against us. Not very exhausting moving from right to left for 90 minutes knowing if you keep a tight narrow shape you aren’t going to be threatened.

players in this league aren’t all carthorses who are fucked after an hour, they’re well drilled and well disciplined decent level footballers.

non of the things Evatt uses as justifications are stacking up at the minute

Would we have the lost the game there was 3 minutes left, that’s plenty of time to get a goal, unbelievable decision, I was screaming at the time for Evatt to send him back, I watched Evatt closely and believe he was well aware that Baxter was coming up for the corner and he did not react.

If we move the ball quicker the opposition have to sprint to fill the gaps and they tire quicker, we didn’t do that yesterday, and to compound the situation we let them score and gave them something to hold onto.
