In fact

Liverpool have, in the last ten minutes, misplaced 6 passes, missed 3 tackles, let a lad score by not playing the offside trap, missed 2 easy chances and not tracked back once.

Theyre top if the whole league. And worth about a gazillion pounds.

How is that relevant to Bolton Wanderers who are playing in league one   a full 2 leagues below

If we go up , and go up we will, based on our system we need wing backs on both sides of vastly improved quality. It's imperative.

We can't go in to ten championship with the current two. 1000%

Did you watch todays games RWB was probably MOM

Of course we could do worse, we could put me or you at left wing back, that’s a ridiculous comment.

You’ve completely ignored my question about improvement - probably on purpose because you just like to create confrontation rather than have a genuine discussion.

I’ll leave it there, it’s not one for this thread anyway because as others have pointed out there are only positives to come out of today / the Christmas period. Maybe the question should be on the Transfer Gossip thread - if you could upgrade one position in this window, which would it be. I reckon the majority would agree that it’s LWB.

Can’t disagree there pal.

I feel for RW & the level of stick he has had, he’s put plenty good shifts in. But he’s still a rotation/back up for me. If we can get a very good wing back then we’d be brilliant.

All depends what’s out there though.

My point is that EVERY team in EVERY game will misplace passes, miss tackles, lose their man etc etc

It’s about overall performances and results.

Obviousky, if a player is costing us 3 goals a game, it’s time to hook him.

But that’s not happening and folk are pretending it is

Watched it yah. Watched all games this season, what I was basing my opinion on tbh.

If ya reckon JDC is championship quality fair enough 😬, I dont.

Dominic Thompson for me.

He's started 5 league games for Blackpool this season, and they only won 1 of them. Does he have a 100% pass success rate or something?

No, but he crossed one in that some lump centre back converted in to an OG, or something

Anyway, I thought Forrester had a good game. In one against one situations with their attackers he was class...

He did, and Toal the same with regards to those one on one situations. They both had one each in the second half where they were pretty exposed (I think Toal’s was after the misplaced Morley pass) and they both stood up really well and came away with the ball.

We’ve got some really good centre back options in the squad at the moment, and that’s without Johnston being available!

Never heard of him.

Must be hard hearing anything so far up Randys arse😂

To be honest I’m as happy as the next person but it’s stupid to not debate or call out areas we can improve?

He’s not my bag due to the fact he can drop us in shit regularly in games through lack of support to Toal. Pulling out of challenges. Clearly can bring something going forward.

I can’t see any ins unless we have outgoings.

Tale of extremes tonight.

If or when we go up, we will find out then which players are good enough.

Some maybe so not so. Some will surprise us, either way.

I do remain confident that the scouts and coaches will be covering such bases.

For now though, it doesn't hugely matter. Get up first.

today we created loads of chances and missed them= not good enough

It is a forum; so folk will have their say. Either way.

First sentence is denigrating others because they don't agree with you.

Yes we missed plenty today, but still did enough. 4 straight wins in a short time- is that also not good enough?

Always room for improvement, but another clean sheet, another win and another step towards the season's main objective.

We won = good enough.

You say we created loads of good chances and kept a clean sheet, but our wing backs are being criticised.

I agree.

The atmosphere was a bit flat, as is often the case: hang overs and over indulgence to the fore.

I felt there was far more commitment amongst the players than fans!

Not easy to build momentum against stubborn defending neither

I don't think we can blame it on being 1st Jan, it was the same for both games in December and the Exeter one did get going a bit but only when the goals were piling up.  Its always the case against small teams we have no rivalry with, the atmosphere earlier in the season v Derby, Wigan, Carlisle and Blackpool was on a completely different level, and not just in the away end.

Barnsley will be decent for obvious reasons, and I do think the atmosphere picks up when the warmer/lighter days come, it helps when everyone's generally in a better mood!  But Cheltenham will be flat as a pancake, the players must realise they have to lift us rather than the other way round, generally.
