We’re still very much in any win will do territory.

Not interested in how pretty we look, what percentage of possession we have, how much we create and especially not interested in our fucking XG.

I just want to see us score more actual goals than they do.

It ain’t rocket science.

Agree with all of that. I’m an optimist and genuinely believe it will fall into place and we’ll be right at the top of the league come the end of the season, but the grace period is coming to an end and results need to pick up through Oct/Nov if we don’t want to fall too far behind.

Someone did point out though that none of the teams that would be expected to be up there have had a good start. Bradford might stick around but I’m comparing the gap to the likes of Cardiff and Huddersfield personally.

Yeh - that was me.

We are in a really pivotal stage of the season. Two winnable games followed by two games with teams up there at the top.

Not losing ground on the likes of Huddersfield and Cardiff, seems more pertinent than catching Stevenage and Lincoln up.

I’d take 8 points from these next 4.

But today’s conditions could be a real leveller.

Is there a danger of it being postponed ?- It’s fucking wild out there!

Cant see it, sadly

We had a storm last season (or maybe before) and I wondered if it would be off.

It wasn't, so I can't see this one being.

There has been a lot of rain, but I think the pitch can cope.

The wind will obviously be the problem.

Our keeper's long kicks out to wingers are going to be difficult. He may be better having a shot! 😀

Unless actually injured, the question marks over Christie's fitness are surely misplaced.

He's played in a couple of cup games and there is no reason he can't start today.

OK, he may not see out the full 90 minutes, but he was signed to play games, and bring experience and ability.

It may indeed be the opportunity he has been waiting for, and may take some shifting.

Lots called off last December, including ours at Bristol, because of a similar storm.

About to battle the wind and rain over the Pennines. Been a jinx so far this season - seen the 2 home draws, missed the 3 home wins.  Todays the day. 2-0 win. COYWM.

I think he’ll start too.

This is why we brought him in.

If Tutu was fit he probably wouldn’t even be here.

Unusual Cogley being injured, so he should be chomping at the bit, to get in this side and have a good game.

The only way he doesn’t is if SS thinks today’s conditions/opposition require some extra strength, height and muscle, then we may see Toal.

Probably more likely to see Toal replace one of the CBs if he does come in.

Was thar because of the pitch, risky travelling, or both?

Can't remember now.

Given the time, I can't see ours being called off, unless the pitch is indeed found to be waterlogged.

The storm isn't as bad further south, and it may be felt that travelling is OK.

Personally, I think it should be, but I can't see it.

Wasnt it some structual damage??

Have we (or any of the other 92 teams) had a league game this season when that's not been the case?

If we win today we won't be approaching the Burton, Huddersfield or Cardiff games saying a win would be OK but really we want to see a comfortable game with loads of great football, a clean sheet and goals for each of our strikers.

It'll stop raining in about an hour, can't do anything about the wind though

BBC forecast says 100% chance of rain till 1, then 50% chance all afternoon.

There will be a few postponements today, hopefully not us if only for my brother & nephew currently en route from Lincoln.

One of those days I'm grateful we play at the Reebok and not Burnden - imagine standing on the Embankment today!

Heavy favourites in the premier League especially won't be in the any win will do category all the time. They'll be wanting to put a marker down to show they can go for the title.

2 seasons ago after we won our first 3 games we were in a similar position where it wasn't any win will do. We wanted to see the team produce a full 90 min performance because we were worried we looked soft at times in those wins (proved right as the season went on and we didn't get promoted).

This league 1 so far having unexpected teams at the top does probably mean every single game is any win will do territory.
