Matt Lofthouse Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) There was only one person taking that pen. Love that in a striker. The less said about that performance the better. 3 points and onto fucking Burton. So many poor performances throughout the team today, but Dalby doesn’t half work hard for the team. Won loads of headers/flick ons, but pointless when McAtee is 30m away pointing at people and complaining when he’s just passed the ball behind them and out for a throw. Fucking shithouse, that was his last chance today, fuck him back off to Barnsley. Edited January 24 by Matt Lofthouse Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Yet, a good pass for the opener! What would we have done without him... 😀 Quote
Rizlar Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Poor game but 3 points anyway and hopefully back to 3-5-2 from now on our players look more confident playing this system. Still think SS will get it right he knows what he needs and the players that might not be up to it. Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Yet another terrible ref. How we ended up with 3 bookings against their one, beggars belief. Quote

auckland_bwfc Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Weeeeeerrrrrreeeeeee the one and only wandruz! 3 points The beer tastes good and cold. 3 more on Tuesday Quote

Lt. Aldo Raine Posted January 24 Posted January 24 SS pointed out after FT that it was our seventh match of the month compared to their fourth Hopefully, when we get through this run of Sat-Tue-Sat and bring a few new faces in, performances will improve Quote

A stunningly poor referee. He seemed to be determined to be the centre if attention from the first seconds. Our first half was almost equal to his ineptitude. Never seen such slack, inaccurate, passing. A potential ACL SS said for Amario. But we got a win, somehow, from that performance. The mass substitutions had a great, necessary, impact. Quote
victor meldrew Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Bloody hell, footballers having to do what they are paid for Quote
desperado Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Putting the poor performance to one side. We won. We scored two goals. We’re third. We’re closer to promotion than we were at 3pm. Enjoy your night Quote

Something needs to change. I'm going with zero. They didn't prevent us passing the ball or controlling it, and they didn't force Bonham to pass it 5 yards to a marked player a few times that eventually resulted in his injury (that's on SS), and they didn't make us pass it into touch when it looked easier to find a white shirt. Bonarummmas distribution choices are a worry. He strikes me as someone that just needs to "lump it to Davies " Quote

Tombwfc Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Sign of a good team is to win when not playing well. Wrexham, Derby, whatever (these teams both got 92 points, they're Barcelona '08 compared to the shite in the league this year). Sign of a bad team is to not play well even when you win. My strong guess is that the side as it stands is not a winning machine who are going to grind out results for months on end. I think they're pretty spent and lacking totally in ideas. However, the hope has to be that results like today keep us in touch before the cavalry comes in the next week. Quote

It looked like he was playing to instructions to me. Quote
London Wanderer Posted January 24 Posted January 24 What an opportunity to go up. But Christ we need some more quality up top. Especially now our best player this season (arguably) is looking at a lengthy spell out. Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted January 24 Posted January 24 2 hours ago, Zog1 said: Much bigger win than Wigan this. How do you work that out? I get if folk don't care if we beat Wigan or not, but both games were level going into last 10 minutes or so and we won both by a goal, why is today "bigger"? Last week was much bigger for me and is a memory to keep for a lot longer than the dross we watched today. Quote

I assume the ref blew but was then told he had got it wrong. If so I get WHY he changed the decision, but I'm not aware that someone off the pitch can make these decision. Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted January 24 Posted January 24 2 hours ago, Whitesince63 said: I feel more confident of holding on this time with 3 at the back. It definitely helped. They defended like trojans in injury time, and Forino was a big part of that. Quote
Popular Post FrancisFogarty Posted January 24 Popular Post Posted January 24 Best thing about today was the way Burstow took the ball for the penalty. Ninety odd minutes gone, crowd not too happy anyway and he took the responsibility. Hope it’s just the kick he needs. Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted January 24 Posted January 24 2 hours ago, Whitesince63 said: To be honest though would we really miss the wingers, they’ve done very little other than Gales goal today but in fairness he contributed little else. Tightening up at the back with Christie and Forino fid more for me today so let’s hope SS keeps the three at the back now and builds on that? Last week you said never change a winning team 😀 I'm still not sure how that works if subs come on after 65 minutes when we're drawing and we then win. Quote
