Popular Post kent_white Posted February 18 Popular Post Posted February 18 Moaning on the BWFC page on Facebook because the club has posted a 'Happy Ramadan' picture. Going on about 'why aren't you wishing us all a happy lent'? Yawn! Utter, utter fuckwits. Quote

Ani Posted February 18 Posted February 18 My missus was talking about Lent last night. I was not really listening so not sure why she was going on, but if it Lent that might explain it Quote
Sweep Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Years ago, Bolty used to say if you support BWFC, then you must be at least 51% OK - maybe back then, but these days, sadly even that doesn't ring true. Anyway, why aren't the club wishing me a Happy Ash Wednesday? Quote

(Not saying all are before people start) it's crazy sometimes. Im convinced a good chunk of them aren't even particularly arsed with the football, just want the day out to get absolutely shit faced and just need some sort of belonging to something, anything. Which is fine until we get given an allocation of a couple thousand, you miss out on tickets and know full well there will be a good few hundred that are too busy sniffing in a cubicle to even bother watching the game. Popular Post royal white Posted February 18 Popular Post Posted February 18 I’ve said it for years, if there was a league table for mongiest fans our trophy cabinet would be full. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Stay out of religion, politics or whatever contentious issues there are. Of itself, it may seem innocuous, but it misses the mood of society. Lent or whatever other religious events are occurring can be left alone too. Quote

kent_white Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 We're a town with a large Muslim population. The club wants to encourage those people to follow the team too. I honestly can't see what the problem is. Football Venture's motto is Family, Faith, Football or something isn't it? Quote

No just home games. With the odd away if it's a biggie. So I miss out on that. I mean it's bad enough being overtly racist when you're at an away game - 8 pints deep and full of shite coke. But these are people (presumably sober) giving the club pelters at 11 am. Lots of them are young too which seems worse for some reason. And there's loads of them who suddenly seem to have 'found Christ' whilst simultaneously - demonstrating that they have completely misunderstood his teachings. The hypocrisy knocks me sick. Quote

Not in Crawley Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Who knew there were so many Knight Templar given the movement was disolved by the Pope in the 14th Century? Quite the Catholic resurgance amongst our fellow Whites. Quote

Now it seems - everybody of a certain persuasion is dead keen on it! 😂 From what I know of Ramadan, it’s similar to lent in terms of it being a period of observance and fasting . Lent is a period for Christians , lots will have got ashes today . I do often wonder, (well not that much ) but why is Ramadan marked by most organisations but the “ traditional “ observance is hardly mentioned. At the end of Lent you get Easter well wishes obviously , but the start is never marked or mentioned like Ramadan is which is also marked st the end . but the way, I’m not arsed, I don’t think those commenting will have much of an idea about Lent either, it’s just for discussion on here but you will never hear a statement saying, “ wishing all our fans a peaceful Holy Week” for example .
