My fear would be that the middle two drop too deep , Kenny joins Dalby up top leaving us with a 3-4-0-1-2 . If Vales pitch is as bad as everyone says then sacrifice the wingers for battlers . Bring Dempsey into a midfield 3 , play burstow and Kenny up top with Dalby behind for the flick ons . Drop Desmond with Simons covering the right flank/sand box . The Tinkerman has spoken ! All kneel and worship ME ! Quote
desperado Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Depending on your predetermined opinion of SS there will be informed & well thought out (or bingo machine style) changes today. His comments this week about Vale’s pitch suggest he'll pick the players more able and robust enough to handle the conditions. Hard to know from our perspective who they will be. On the face of it Erhahon & Dempsey would seem likely, unless Dempseys injury record sways him to leave him out of this one. Quote

I’m not comparing them to mega clubs but they’re just one of those clubs that you think should be bigger than they are. I may be wrong and it might be because I worked there, just my thoughts on it. If you include Newcastle under Lyme ans all the surrounding towns you’re looking at a catchment area of 500,000 between the 2 clubs. In truth, they could both be much bigger attendance wise. Quote

I just always thought they under-performed considering the potential they could have whilst Stoke thrive. Quote

Andybarm Posted Saturday at 10:18 Posted Saturday at 10:18 Finally got through to the club shop, they’re not selling to away fans on the day unfortunately. Quote
Stig Posted Saturday at 10:43 Posted Saturday at 10:43 Hoping McAtee is back fit for this. The best we've looked in this unbeaten run was with him as the 10 behind Dalby. I've been impressed with Kenny but it's then making Dalby drop deep which doesn't work IMO. Would put Kenny on one of the wings and play Gale, Cissoko or Apter on the other. Midfield 2 of Dempsey plus EE or Simons. Not a game for Sheehan for me. Quote

I always assumed it was the bit you see from the M6. For the pedants Stourbridge is actually West Midlands now, but you get the point. Staffs goes from almost Buxton in the North down to just outside Kidderminster in the South. Not sure you get many PV here! Wolves, WBA, Villa, in that order is my experience. Never seen a blue. Lt. Aldo Raine Posted Saturday at 14:09 Posted Saturday at 14:09 Simons! My first thoughts were that it might be a 4-3-3, which I think would be preferred on that pitch Quote

Alf Hartigan Posted Saturday at 14:11 Posted Saturday at 14:11 It's a 5 3 2 or a 3 5 2. Same thing really. Quote
