worthy10 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 We are 6/1 to get promoted. Simple poll vote, will we or won't we? Please mods? Quote
MalcolmW Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Voting has no influence on the actual outcome. Supporting the team can do so. Quote
superkev Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Will be a monumental effort. I feel we will just miss out. Quote
jules_darby Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Will be a monumental effort. I feel we will just miss out. Yep 7th for me Quote
ex_midlandwhite Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Yep 7th for me T'is my feeling too. I know there are advocats in here for not needing a specific number of points but i feel even this season will be at least 72 and to get that will need an unbelievable continued run. Will be a hell of an end to the season if we do though! Quote
White Shirt Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) I reckon 6 wins will do it, 72 points 4 home against Huddersfield, Wolves, Boro and Blackpool 2 away out of Charlton, Bristol, Ipswich, Leicester and Cardiff Not too sure if we'll get 2 away wins myself Edited March 12, 2013 by White Shirt Quote
jayjayoghani Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 if we just miss out, in spite of a late storming run, may I be the first to predict us going unbeaten next season Quote
Biggish Dave Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Heart says yes, head says no - I think we will just miss out on the play offs by 1 or 2 points, hope i'm wrong Quote
MickyD Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I am starting to come around to the thoughts that, if, and where ever we finish in the playoff spots, we'll go on and get promation. Confidence really is that high. I don't think any team up and around the top 6 or 7 give us anything to fear. Quote
Arrested development Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Wonder what the odds were 7 games ago for us to get promoted and if anybody gambled on us then? Quote
Zico Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I keep reserving judgement till after the next game will def be a bit clearer after tonight more so after the next 2 games for us as it stands, I still think we'll miss out, just, to Forest Quote
Sweep Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I think we may have left it one or two games too late Quote
tomski Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I don't think their is any team in this league we can't beat now, whatever happens things are on the up for the first time in a long time. Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I keep thinking of the run-in when we faced Watford in the final, I'm sure someone (Malcolm) can provide more detail, but I've a strong recollection of sitting working out the permutations to get into the final spots - it required a good finish from us and for it to go tits up for another team(s), which it did. This time last year we were out of the bottom three, look how that turned out. Believe - until it's mathematically impossible, but let's keep it under our hats eh? We wouldn't want to become a laughing stock if it doesn't happen... Quote
burndenpaddock Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Looking at the fixture list, all of the teams in contention have to play each other (including us) so there is potential for a lot of slip-ups. I think it will go down to the final day of the season with us pipping Forest to the final play-off place. They've got a difficult last game of the season, a fierce East Midlands derby against Leicester. We'll beat Palace at Wembley to get back to where we belong. Quote
Traf Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Wonder what the odds were 7 games ago for us to get promoted and if anybody gambled on us then? Not quite 7 games ago, but after the Hull game (4 games ago) Dan took 28/1 with Skybet and I got 40/1 with bet365. Quote

Traf Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 188Bet offering evens in the ground? I wouldn't know, I've not been to the match since 29th December #shitfan. Quote

We wouldn't want to become a laughing stock if it doesn't happen... It was Watford who squeezed in over the late fixtures (ending up 5th), and Wolves who missed out (on 73). Before that they had lost 3 in succession. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I think the quality of the players we get in on loan might have a big bearing we need some real quality in and if we get the right ones in and we can use all the loan players in the play offs we might just sneak it. Quote
