How many did the peoples club end up taking to Ewood. Last I heard it was around the 22,000 mark, plus loads couldn't get in.

The big Prem teams are all abroad at the moment.

I'm usually positive. But the spine of the team from our good run from February to May has gone

Blackpool at home showed how much we missed it when we most needed it

We was piss poor against Betis

I hope I'm proved wrong

Piss poor is strong wording, lets see. Saturday is where we start. I expect a bit of movement between now an Sept 1st. Far to much being read into friendlies.

Fuck me this happens year in, year out. Pre season friendlies are meaningless.

10 games into the season. I expect there to be serious promise shown by then and most (never all) of the Doubting Thomas' to be on here spouting their 'never in doubt' theories.

Spot on. We seem to have some of the most miserable and some of the thickest folk around supporting Bolton. That pre season when we stormed the Championship we were hopeless results wise. I'm sure we lost to Carlisle then and the doubters were out in full voice. We have had a crap pre season and Burnley are flying (Playing nearer their first XI, due to having a smaller squad, one reason?) but lets see what happens Saturday and then in first ten games. If its as bad as last year then maybe hughmungus, half baked and the rest will have a ball. By the end of August hopefully DF will have the players and system he wants and we can give it a good go.

We lost 1-0 and it was a fucking shambles, Sasa's last game for us, the team were in disarray. I can't remember any moaners though. We went to Port Vale and got a good point.

There's always been folk that moan all through the game, even when we were ripping teams apart.

I preferred it when we played Atherton LR, Leigh etc, no one really gave a shit about the result, it was all about footie being back, having a few beers and calling tony kelly a fat bastard as he chugged along in midfield...i'll worry when we've played the first 6 and are struggling, until then it's pre-season fitness

Wanderers appear to have problems aplenty in the days leading up to the trip to Port Vale. Just when they thought things were coming together, their expensively assembled side was humbled by Third Division opponents for the second time in three weeks.......

The manager's indictment of the performance summed up the general concensus on the overall pre-season programme which, apart from a couple of flashes of inspiration from Curcic, has been lacklustre to say the least.

"These pre-season games were designed to instill a bit of confidence in players but we can't say we have done that."

Wanderers 96: Branagan (sub Ward 45 mins), Green, Small (sub Phillips 88 mins), Curcic, Taggart (sub Strong 78 mins), Fairclough, Johansen, Frandsen (sub Todd 64 mins), Sachy (sub Blake 45 mins), McGinlay, Thompson

versus

Wanderers 13: Bogdan, Baptiste, Wheater, Knight, Tierney, Medo, Eagles, Chungy, Hall, Beckford, Ngog

Without rose tinted specs, discuss....

Mental block here, who the fuckery is Sachy??

Oh and even disregarding whoever he is, that 96 team would wipe the floor with this current one.  There are leaders throughout that team ... something the current one is severely lacking.

I'd give a testicle to have Per Frandsen again.

96 easy...

That was seriously one tough team that would mix it with anyone.

See wolves that season!

I don't think I'd swap any for today's team,possibly eagles only.

Today's team would wipe the floor, on a midweek game they'd be in Ritzy before me! They must have got a lift over to the Moathouse.

Are you insinuating that the squad of 96 may have liked a tipple or two mr Greek??
