Moderators Casino Posted September 17, 2013 Moderators Share Posted September 17, 2013 10/15 minutes in ream gets the ball under pressure in a place you wouldn't want to be losing it - calmly steps round the derby player played a key pass in the build up to at least one of the goals some of the football in the first half was streets in front of what most in this league can do yes, it tailed off a bit but it had to - the pace of the game was unbelievable mentions for tierney, mills, ream and the 3 attacking midfielders, first half in particular wes till had plenty ball in the second half but always felt we were vulnerable and bogdan made the save of the night very, very promising i was entertained but wouldn't be happy to see that team start at brighton which is a real shame

jules_darby
Still not getting the Ream thing. He was ok, that's about it We were shit for long periods and good in brief spells Tactically it's a bit of a mess; we had no depth and often played 5 and 5 Out first goal was a real joy to see; the 2nd was a good goal from a greedy wanker, but a good one As for the defending for the goals: Sunday league fodder 2nd half we seemed more in control but it's still not quite right Beckford had a mare and Chungy's first touch hit his other shin all night; waste of space that lad at the moment Some lovely balls from Tierney Oh and Derby, constant niggles and gamesmanship....Nigel's dad would be spinning in his green jumper
gonzo
That kind of behaviour will not be tolerated by honest Nigel Shirley!
Moderators Casino Posted September 17, 2013 Moderators Share Posted September 17, 2013 (edited) DOUGIE FREEDMAN: Manager speaks post-Derby http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9vm1KUjq7E pretty clear hes tried to batter a few of em with the stick after brighton and now feeding carrots to em on another point, i've got to say that our 'fans' who go on radio manc are the biggest dickwads you could ever have the misfortune to listen to apparently freedman is ripping the heart out of the club also, tonight was dreadful, apparently its reassuring to read on here that most thought that at worst it was promising Edited September 17, 2013 by Casino
Leyther_Matt
Enjoyed that game. Miles better performance than Saturday and two cracking goals. Still a lot of things to work on, but at least there's a bit more of a base.

ianofcleveleys
Tierney brilliant, best player on the park, Baptiste steady, a threat when he gets in their box Mills and Wheater not bad, defending in front of them first half was non existent apart from Spearing trying to do three jobs Spearing overworked but did his best to hold the middle together Ream did well for 2nd goal and improved as game went on, passed it well but still lacks pace and physical strength when he has to defend With Eagles, Chungy and Hall, then Ngog later on, too many wanting to do the same thing, head down, run /dribble inside and shoot Beckford and Ngog were both embarassing, may as well play 4-6-0 and have a 'false number nine' as none of our forwards look like they'll score this side of Christmas. Agree with Mounts though that Beckford needs somebody like M Davies to feed him, sadly that won't be happening for along while yet and in the meantime he's going to have to put himself about a lot more than tonight. Our central defenders are shite but they'll keep looking like that when those in front of them (Spearing apart) give the ball away as much as they do, are so airy fairy when they've lost it and when neither forward has any appetite for working hard enough at making the ball stick when it goes up to them. Bit better tonight but a long way from being good enough to suggest a good run will follow
Not in Crawley
We are gash. Small improvements are not what is or should be expected from a team that spent a decade in the Premiership only relegated less than two years ago. I'm sick of not winning. Boooooooo! Rembrandt
The elephant on the pitch is still the goals against figure though. 13 goals in 7 matches. People wanted to shoot OC for 2 per match conceded.

bwfc87
Tonight for me was more promising but still frustrating. Scored two cracking goals, not seen them back yet but sure Derby's second was lucky as fuck. Only real niggle for me was set pieces, especially goal kicks and throwing's. Same tactic every time every time from gk, kicking in wide for the full back to flick on and almost everytime gave it back to Derby straight away. It worked a bit last year because Alonso is a tall fucker with a massive head.
paulhanley
We're not going to improve significantly until we get a new central defender. None of our current combinations work. To me, that's what is all boils down to.
Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted September 18, 2013 Site Supporter Share Posted September 18, 2013 Thought we did ok but still ship too many chances and inevitably goals. Our 2 wide players don't track back which leaves the back 4 exposed too often. Bogdan doesn't seem to communicate with his back 4 either, as a shot stopper he's ok but needs to be a lot more vocal. Beckford was abysmal, surely he's capable of putting himself about more than he did last night? He must have a sore arse this morning he was on it so often. An improvement but that wouldn't take much. I also thought Derby looked a decent team too

None of our current combinations work. To me, that's what is all boils down to. I'll take Wheater and Mills for now. Mills attacks the ball, only one we've got that does. Give them three games they'll be reet. Our problem is forwards not scoring. DF will sort
Mounts Kipper
It's time for DF to play a settled back 4 no more tinkering please let them get an understanding the only changes for the team on Saturday should be NGog for Beckford and possibly Medo for Ream. anewman
One up front at home is abysmal, derby were there for the taking second half, once he put n'gog on he should of put davies on for chungy who was ineffective then gone for it. And that miss from that header what the fuck was that all about? He could of stood up and side foot volleyed it in Edited September 18, 2013 by anewman
onlyoneawalker
Much better and on the basis we're better than we were this time last season we're still in the mix - good game that faded abit 2nd half and fair play to derby they've improved since last season looked lively - folk need to used to beckford if eagles chungy etc don't play him in he won't score thought he attacked crossed 200% better than ngog but was akward bit unlucky with a slip here and there and odd bad turn he needs chances to score at home he's had none

Mounts Kipper
On Beckford he made loads of runs in behind defenders but not once did anybody pick the pass for the run he made, not saying he's a world beater but he will score goals if we pick the pass and if our wingers can get to the byline and get a decent cross in, currently it's the fullbacks getting the ball in but a winger with a bit better quality ball is needed. Site Supporter Ratwhite Posted September 18, 2013 Site Supporter Share Posted September 18, 2013 Davies is injured. What's up with Davies? Ps agree 110% about a settles back four.
