Watching the Massives vs West Ham game and city players have pulled back players on about three occasions and if it had been the other way round they are bookings.

Enjoyed hearing Dean Ashton claiming  that Liverpool didn’t need Bellingham as Trent Alexander Arnold is a better midfielder than him. And that in time Trent will be better than De Bruyne

Bit bemused by the current theory being punted around that as Trent can't defend his "natural position" has always been midfield and he's just been played out of position for the last three years.

One thing about Bellingham is that he can defend and gets stuck in - but it's fair to say Trent's range of passing is probably slightly better ATM. But his workrate isn't a patch on Jude's.

Slightly concerned that Bradley has moved up the pecking order.

We've been lucky to have Bradley and Traff, they have certainly played their part in the rise of the club too.

We really need to bring our own players in though who can be improved then sold on for bigger money.

I'd love to start next season with no loan players assuming acquired players are up to scratch

Would love to see Leeds AND Everton relegated, but I’ll accept just Everton.

Leeds run-in is awful though and I just can’t see BSA keeping them up.

Cracking bet @ 4/7.

Think youve just solved your own theory, Lusty.

We had a manager, maybe even Evatt, who said he didn't want to be spending time developing other clubs players.

He still did though.

Facts are they are available & other clubs do it. Last season MK Don's had some good ones & they were a force, this season their loanees weren't so good & they're near the bottom.

So much as I empathise with you, let's hope next season's are up to scratch.

It would be nice, but so would winning the lottery. If we recruited as averagely as we seem to have in January, it’d be ideal to send some back!

Just reading the BN, and it seems we would like to try to get Bradley back if promoted.

To be fair I think we’d get both back if we’re promoted because I don’t think either are fully ready for the PL and would be bench warmers at best. That said there are bound to be others in for them who may have deeper pockets for loan fees than we have. Either way I think we were very lucky that both have turned out as well as they have and whether we could be that lucky again is debatable?

If it wasnt for loan players we would be midtable.

They are absolutely essential for success at clubs of our level.

Yep, providing they can hack it at League 1 level - for every Taf & Conor there are more than likely loads who fail.

Won’t happen. We need to move on.

It’s a shit system but well out of our control. We don’t produce enough talented homegrown talent, again out of our control as it’s geared up for prem clubs to take the talent.

Which offers the age old debate in is there any point having an acedemy at all?

Think we generated Rob Holding and Zach Clough in the past 30 years for any kind of profit :D

Haha, of course.

Said there's about 11k of theirs at Udinese tonight. Usually half full that stadium anyway.

Ball going into a ceremonial bag again ffs

I agree. It’s pointless. Pick up lads turfed out at 16 and take the gamble. Brentford and Wigan light years ahead on this.

I imagine it’s like holding it in your nut sack for more than 47 seconds while riding Margot Robie.

We have produced more than a couple.

Even if thy haven't had stella careers, they will have generated a bit of cash for us.

Of course we need to look at what the big clubs discard, but for me, it's also imperative that we have a means of generating our own.

Id say the cost of running far far outweighs any dough we've received in transfer fees.

Obviously we'd have been fucked without the youth set up in recent times. I mean overall.

Just playing devils advocate
