Who wouldn't look awkward with Messi running at them to be fair?

Oh sorry yeah apparently he's just in a good team...hmmmmph

Why do you always misquote everything?

I believe the conversation was that he wouldn't look as good in a team that didn't have all the midfielders feeding him the ball in all the right places.

He's obviously a talented lad, but we were talking about whether he was the best in the world. I think there are far better players.

I'd enjoy finishing above the chicken botherers this seasons. We ain't getting close to the play offs just just having a good run, playing some entertaining football and giving a couple of the kids a run out will do for me.

You do

But for 3 years on the run he was voted by professionals, coaches and involved media as the best of the best. In fairness some votes are political, however:

I'd give it you I you just said Ronaldo is better

But "there are far better players" implies 2 things:

There are a number of better players

And they are much better

Both are complete bollocks

I'm beginning to think you are either menkul, or just difficult for the sake of it

Or both

Had my dinner with Steve Thompson on Tuesday.

He's very bitter about the way it ended at Blackpool.

Got few irons in the fire including Fleetwood town. Just enjoying his time with the family for now.

He Loves Bolton.

Zlatan - very good, top 5, but better than Messi?  Thinking not

well, skill wise, they as good as each other

going off honours, goals etc- messi has 2 CL titles where he scored in the finals

neither have done much at a world cup

It does imply much better.

In no way does it imply more than two.

In this country, Zlatan before Messi. He's perfectly suited to the Spanish game where people don't tackle.

if we use stats for a moment:

http://www.whoscored.com/Statistics

the highest tackles per game on average by a PL team this season is Palace with 22.3 per game, Liverpool 2nd with 22.1

A Madrid, A Bilbao, C Vigo, Espanyol, Malaga and Valencia all average more

5 of the 7 lowest tacklers across Europe are in the PL - Cardiff, Fulham, West Ham, Norwich,  & Swansea

Bayern Munich are actually the second lowest which was a surprise

i think it's more a case of they can't tackle him cos he's a tricky fucker

When I say tackle, I mean tackle properly and challenge for the ball. Whereas in Spain, the moment you go near them they are over for the free kick and waving an imaginery yellow card in the air.

i think that's what the stats are on about too, but they don't clarify

here's a good video

"Lionel Messi - Dirty Tackles" (takes about 30 seconds to get going)

and in the interests of fairness

"Lionel Messi Diving, Being a cunt"

We taught him all he knows. Commentator just gave us a mention.

But how can he be a 'Brazilian-born Spaniard'?

Every time Tomo is mentioned on here I post that he is a true legend of our club & deserves more credit than he gets.
