Sweep Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Think Nixon mentioned it Indeed, so it's probably bollocks Quote
Eavesy Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 According to Lennon we have had various bids in for various players but we've rejected em Quote
Guest Blixa Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Don't worry can't be true if Nixon said it. Would t be surprised if Nixon becomes the 'patsy' for these deals - Terry Robinson punts him some gossip in an attempt to get some kind of auction going. Quote
MancWanderer Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Sad to see him go but in the end didn't contribute enough. His goal at Sheffield Wed when that bloke fell out of the stand in front of me will live long in the memory Quote
Tyldesley White Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 If it is the £700-750k we're selling him to Sheff Wed for I think that's a decent deal considering we paid £1million for him. With him being one of the top earners and injury prone it's a no brainer, cash in before he gets injured, he might not pass the medical!  If Dean Moxey is the top earner then he'd be next out of the door Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Dervite to wolves or is that old news? Be sad to see mark davies go but he's never really done it very talented lad but not sure he'll last long in the memory ........ Top moment screamer at Brentford last season ???? Quote
Eavesy Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Perhaps it's a sign of the times or purely an indication of mark Davies contribution to Bolton wanderers that in my eyes he'll be more remembered for his attempted tackle in the lead up to sheff weds second goal rather than a positive contribution Quote
jules_darby Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 If it is the £700-750k we're selling him to Sheff Wed for I think that's a decent deal considering we paid £1million for him. With him being one of the top earners and injury prone it's a no brainer, cash in before he gets injured, he might not pass the medical!  If Dean Moxey is the top earner then he'd be next out of the door Moxey? Really?! I thought Wheater was? Quote
Dr Faustus Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 He peaked in the game against Liverpool for me. At that stage, I thought he would ascend to the England squad. Â Flashes of brilliance since, but only in games we've seemingly strolled (4-0 Blackburn etc), whether that says more about his effect on the game, or the games effect on him I don't know. Â Shame, but we've lost better players. Good luck, hope its not completed before Tuesday Quote
ex_midlandwhite Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Moxey? Really?! I thought Wheater was? Iles says Moxey is a top earner but a few weeks ago Nixon said he isn't. So at least one journo is guessing like the fans Quote
Guest Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 £700,000 is a fair price and not indicative of a fire sale. Which, perhaps, indicates that there is a buyer around Quote
famouswanderer Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Last minute goal v wolves, will always love him just for that Quote
frank_spencer Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Ideally I'd keep the youth products and any of the others can go for pennies. There's been nothing this season to say we'd struggle without any of them. Quote
Guest Blixa Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Is spearing not top earner? Got to be a toss up between Spearing and Wheater. No way is it Moxey. Quote
Blondi Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I would say Wheater, Spearing, Medo,Amos then Pratley in that order as our next highest earners. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Whens Spearings contract up? the sooner hes off the books the better, be very interesting to see where his career goes from here, my guess is down and out of the pro game within 2-3 years. Quote
Plums Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I'm trying to keep it under control, I really am, but I feel another Heskey rant coming on.. Sorry people Quote
Ani Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 He played 42 times in last 2 seasons, he is a big earner - apparently, we can not find a system that gets the best out of him. Â He is one of a very few players we have with any quality on the ball, sad to see him go but inevitable really. Â Will be annoying as wherever he goes he will crop up on highlights doing something good. Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 We need to shift 10-15 players, preferably the higher paid ones, get used to it, that's the reality of our situation.  Davies fee may be disappointing to some of us but I'd take that, he's not that good.... Except on his day of course. Shifting his wages is the key thing here, the fees a bonus, after all, in the 6 years or so he's been here, he's been in the tattooists chair for more hours than he's been on the pitch  If the likes of Clough go on the cheap, then I won't be happy Quote
SalfordOriginal Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Who in their right minds would make a left back the top earner??? Quote
gonzo Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) Who in their right minds would make a left back the top earner???AC Milan? Â Besides there's no way moxey is close to being top earner. Wasnt he signed at the tail end of freedmans cost cutting jolly? Edited January 8, 2016 by gonzo Quote
Blondi Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) Think some of our big earners such as Wheater, Spearing & Medo, they're out of contract in the summer. Pretty sure Danns, Dobbie and maybe Feeney? Too are out of contract.Add players like Ameobi, Heskey, Rachubka and our 2 loan players in Prince & Wellington going back, we should be saving a bundle with that lot. Just need to shift a couple of donkeys still under contract like Dervite, Trotter &Twardzick. Edited January 8, 2016 by Blondi Quote
Traf Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 It's a fair assumption to guess that length of time at the club = higher up the pay scale. Quote
