onlyoneawalker Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 (edited) Can I be the first to congratulate the board on the sale of £11m worth of assets that safe guard the immediate future of the club whilst not materially affecting the football operations. Granted assets are there in normal circumstances to generate income for a business but in the very unusual circumstances of your main benefactor and income source pulling out having the foresight over 15 years of unrivalled success to accumulate assets suitable for resale should the business ever need it. I wonder if all these assets are where the money went after all?? Edited February 19, 2016 by onlyoneawalker Quote
Spider Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Exactly. I'd fucking love Deano to come out and say, right lads, we've got no debt and will only from now on have servicable borrowing, our main revenue stream is ticket sales, if we get 6K then the team will reflect that. You, Bolton, want a high flying team, you need to get away from your keyboard and put your £££ where your mouth is. To the last full stop, the most intelligent and accurate post since this forum began. Fucking Bravo, sir. Quote

I had a feeling I might be in a minority but maybe not of just the one ...... By footballing operations I mean a car park - offices and a training ground we don't need to put out a decent football team Quote

Also I'm no expert but have they got market value or just a fire sale value? Quote
Plums Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Let's see where the £11m ends up first, eh?Exactly.. And anyone that thinks a consortium will only put out a team that is based on gate receipts is deluded. Really lads? I understand the notion, romantic as it is but in this day and age that is not going to happen. It's not that I don't dream of it, but to think that is the case... You may as well go and follow magpies. Quote
MalcolmW Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Sold to Huron Properties whoever they are I'm sure someone on here will enlighten us. Oh & we have move out over easter ffs. Whelan family (not WAFC). Quote
Carlos Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I hope I'm wrong but I just can't see that Deano is a front for Sheikh Al-llardyce who's going to bankroll us into the Champions League. Quote

freds dad Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Ferguson seem to like him. The Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was highly critical of Anderson's involvement at Blackburn Rovers, saying: "You’ve got that issue at Blackburn of an agent involved and deciding the future of the club, Jerome Anderson, he couldn’t pick his nose. It’s baffling and it’s a serious threat to how clubs get run and how they conduct themselves.”[19] Quote
