Perhaps assuaging his catholic guilt after Burnden

The deal is done, it may not be the billionaire that we wanted but the club stays in business.

The way I see it is we are in a similar position to Crystal Palace when Steve Parish took over, they were on their arse and the club was in turmoil. He was a fan who new how the club should be run and how he and the rest of the fans wanted it to be run but did not have sufficient funds to buy the club on his own so he puts a consortium together and the club move forward.

I would like to think Deano is our Steve Parish and has the best interest of the club at heart, he has been around football long enough to know what is wrong with the way most clubs are run which is as a business not a football club. If we evolve like Palace have done over the last few years I can live with that.

Not happening.

Embargo won't be lifted until we file FFP.

I'm not sure that is true an embargo can be lifted the same as it can be imposed either side of FFP filing deadlines - when the story broke of its imposition birch made a point of saying it could be lifted pdq - I think this will be a good measure of SS intent if they chuck some cash in early at players or not in a bid to stave off relegation

The holdsworth situation reminds me of when big sam came in don't judge a book by its cover and if he's managed at aldershot etc etc he's clearly willing to get his hands dirty in running things and isn't some berty big bollox also browny had him as asst at Derby which I didn't know. Having said that the move from dugout to boardroom isn't easy. My main worry is the complexity of the consortium solid foundation or house of cards ........ looking fwd to finding something out but I'd suspect we'll never know the details - the palace analogy is a good one and makes some sense as to why people would invest at this stage

How long does a preferred bidder have to complete the deal?

I guess realistically we are acknowledging that this group have the rest of the season to keep us up and then we start from afresh next term?

Euxton sale confirmed on official site. Seems they're moving before Easter though rather than at the end of the season so I hope that doesn't disrupt things too much.

Wigan website says they are moving in at the end of the season.

I see no reason why we would move before then and disrupt things?

Sad day for Chorley based Bolton fans...used to love thinking of our players being there when I was going past in the car as a kid.

What can it disrupt? - we're bottom of the league, and utter shit, perhaps a bit of disruption is what's needed

We should train at Bromwich Street. Run down there, under St Peters Way, circuits up and down the path and on the steps, finish off with sprints on Orlando Bridge. It's good enough for me.
