Sweep Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Questions need answering before we can all start jumping for joy that the saviour is here. True, but by the same rational, until the questions are answered we shouldn't be saying it's terrible and the worst thing that could happen, as some of the above posts are alluding to (I daren't go on twitter or FB......I bet that's mental) I suppose the upside is that we will at least survive until the end of the season....and as we won't go into administration then we still have a chance of staying up (which we won't, because we're turd) Quote
snowball Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Can't shake the feeling it's all been about Eddie and Brett and the rest getting their money before the ship sinks rather than looking after the club and it's future. Handing it over to a shady lot doesn't sit well with me but I suppose all we can hope is that there is a plan in place that long term sees us in a better state on and off the pitch. Probably being a miserable git but hope to be proved wrong Quote
Sweep Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Handing it over to a shady lot doesn't sit well with me I get that, but is SS any more shady than either this Tamraz bloke or the ST? - sadly, it seems there were 3 potentials, the Billionaire was probably nothing but hot air, if he really wanted us, he could have had us. That just leaves the ST and SS - I'm not sure any one of them is anymore shady or worse then the other Quote
gonzo Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 It wasn't in either party's interest to agree a deal before now. It's not in the club's interest to fail to agree before Monday. The transfer window is shut. We are rock bottom of the league with a dogshit squad and we have just endured 4 months of financial turmoil at the club. I don't think league 1 is in anyone's interests either. Quote
1987wanderer Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Boo??? The guys are saving our football club. Everyone was deano this deano that before a billionaire got mentioned. Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 Reserve judgement until we know some facts is a wise move Quote
Spider Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Of course It could all be smoke and mirrors in an attempt to get the this Lebanese JR Ewing to ride in at the last minute Quote
passmosster Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Or have Heads of Agreement for the hearing on Monday. Quote
stevieb Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Boo??? The guys are saving our football club. Everyone was deano this deano that before a billionaire got mentioned. No they weren't. Most were concerned about who he kept company with and who is financing the deal. Most probably still are. Quote
TrickyTrotter Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I've no particular knowledge of either SS or Tamraz. But if you read and believe the (old) Forbes or Newsweek articles on Tamraz on t'internet. He is no less dodgy than SS - two arrest warrants, links to Libya, links to CIA and criticised by a Senate committee for trying to buy US presidential access. Plus given his money is apparently from oil and the price is rock bottom, no wonder that he hasn't come up with hard cash - £20m should be loose change to a billionaire if he wanted the club. Quote
gonzo Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 To be honest I don't care how dodgy they are as long as it brings success in any form to the football club. They just need cash. And loads of it. Quote
no balls Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 (edited) No they weren't. Most were concerned about who he kept company with and who is financing the deal. Most probably still are. Dis. If theyre thinking of asset stripping they'd best have a secret place in the costa del crime to hide out in after. I feel utterly deflated. Edited February 18, 2016 by no balls Quote
Rembrandt Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I'm ready to be underwhelmed. But then I've been thinking that for a while. Quote
DomRepWanderer Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Nixon saying some twists in this story yet. Quote
Cheese Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Oh dear. Have SS even got any money? Obviously, as one of ED's terms was that they had to prove they could finance the club until the end of the season and beyond. Where that money has come from is yet to be seen, and I have a feeling that could be one of the twists in the tale. Quote
Guest Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Nixon saying some twists in this story yet. Pretty clear he doesn't know what is happening. Quote
Blondi Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I wonder when Deano will be approaching Southend for Phil Brown? Maybe when Brownie comes in, we can get a few loan players in and we can survive the drop! Quote
dirty barsteward Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Maybe now is the time for Roger to unleash his financial muscle? Quote
Cheese Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Maybe now is the time for Roger to unleash his financial muscle? Maybe he's involved with Deano's bid? Quote
mickbrown Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I'm ready to be underwhelmed. But then I've been thinking that for a while. Underwhelmed? I'm not sure I can even be arsed being whelmed anymore. Quote
Zico Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Not arsed QPR had some of the richest blokes in the world running them, they did nowt and the fans didn't like them much See what happens Quote
Guest Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Presumably the Sportsshield bid has been picked because it has the most money to invest. So not sure why anyone would be upset at this stage. Quote
Casino Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Cos some folk can't help themselves That's why I can't believe there's not a queue of folk wanting to spunk 20 million a year I'm not in and I'm not out Fingers crossed and wait and see Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 It says in the bn that ss bid has been restructured. Perhaps disley had to be fucked off before Ed would do business- we just don't know. Moreover, presumably preferred bidder status doesn't guarantee a purchase. Quote
