He's such a bulb. He'll row back on that within the week. I actually hope he doesn't, and the EU reciprocate, sadly he'll pull back before they have a chance to do anything

He's fucking ace. I hope he ties the corrupt fuckers in knots.

Hang on. Is this the same guy who has just had a load of billionaires over at his golf course so that he can launch his meme coin while he's in the White House?

I'm just checking 🤣

Aberdeen, the Aberdeen near his golf course? That Aberdeen?

It’s almost like he has a personal interest in the subject. And having plenty of wealthy people in and around his resort. Near Aberdeen.

still, it’s nice that Starmer has managed to get trump where he wants him without any histrionics.

The people in Aberdeen hate him

We could get a new game going here on comments from the pro-Trump lobby.  “Projection or deflection”.

I’m going “projection” on this one.

Every single one?

Knowing a few in the oil industry up there, as I am sure you do, some see him as a ray of hope.

Drill baby drill.

To be fair, he has.

Nigel would have done a whole lot better of course.

I think he's endeared himself to Trump to a degree for sure.

The trade deal was sorted and credit must be given, though Trump's tariffs without doubt expedited the arrangements.

It's not really a trade deal in the proper sense fwiw - that was just Trump's wild exaggeration

It was more about removing the Trump tariffs

Good work though nonetheless

Aye.

10% is better than 25.

Could be worse I suppose- we could be about to face 50%!

50% will never happen.  I’m sure the EU are not surprised by a predictable manoeuvre by a narcissistic tinpot bully.

No doubt It will light a fire under the negotiations tbf, but what a way to rule a country and build relationships. Not.

Perfect opportunity for Trump's hedge fund/tech bro mates to make a shedload of money.

Get the nod that the orange whopper will announce tariffs, get your sell orders in. #

Get the nod he's holding fire for 30 days, get your buy orders in.

Rinse and repeat. Easy money

Cynical? Moi?

It’s fucking obvious what’s going on.

Is the orange idiot purposly trying to turn the whole world and a lot of America against him, or is he just so thick he can't see it. No way will his tenure go full term.

Might even go beyond.

As we tick over into 2027, the charm offensive will begin. The art of the deal.

I've just returned from a business trip in China. The Americans I met, seem to be absolutely furious with him, as clearly their businesses are being fucked over. I said to one of them, what did they expect when he said, before voting he would bring tariffs in.....they all said that they didn't actually believe he would (as he lies about everything), and the average American still thinks that it's the country of origin that pays the tariff, not the importer and that's because of how it's still, to this day, being spun. All the US people I spoke to admitted they voted for Trump, as they thought he would be good for business, all of them concede it's been absolutely awful so far.

One guy, went as far as to say that if something isn't sorted soon, then he's in big trouble, his market is pretty much 90% US & Canada. He designs and manufactures 100% of his goods in Shenzhen, for him to do that in the US, the price would easily double, and it would take over 12 months to actually build a facility even remotely capable of producing the scopes he manufactures

All of them, said they would be very surprised if the US does not hit a recession within the next year or so......although, clearly, these individuals need China, so they're very emotive about it.

The Chinese, whilst worried about a downturn in business, all basically said that they can live without the US, and one factory I deal with, has actually been incentivised to give preferential terms to EU and ASIAPAC customers rather than the US. At present for them, the EU is getting the best deals, and this is being given high level financial support within their province.

Whilst we're on about China.....I saw loads of empty property (apartment blocks) whislt out there, apparently they have a housing surplus, no official figures, but my contact told me they have over 1KK empty apartments in Shenzhen. More dwellings than people.....

They're also pretty much cashless as well, which is excellent. I took some cash out there with me, and honestly, they look at you like you're a wrong 'un if you offer cash, and refuse to take it. Even just buying  a bottle of water

What part of China were you in Sweep? And how did you find it over there? I'm thinking more as a visitor/tourist than for business?

Or didn't you really get much of a chance to have a look around. I've always fancied going but have heard mixed reports!

Good (r/e how the Americans you spoke to are feeling).  Zero sympathy for anyone who voted for the lying grifting orange buffoon.  I’m surprised anyone is surprised.  They knew what they were going to get.
