Owd on a cotton pickin' minute. When I was working at Walmsleys in Bury, there was a massive hullabaloo because a soft porn queen called Fiona Richmond (I think it was her) managed to acquire a Bury rego plate for whatever phallic shaped sports car she was driving at the time - PEN 1S. If I remember rightly, the authorities found a way to ban the plate.

Not long after all the furore, two enterprising young lasses trying to jump on the publicity train which had been generated and (representing Fiesta magazine) pulled up in the centre of Bury in the latest Datsun phallus (a 280Z from memory) with the number plate 155 EXY suitably arranged to read IS SEXY. Got out of the car in thigh high boots, micro hot pants, tits spilling out all over the place, did a bit of cavorting around then fucked off. Caused quite a stir and generated a lot of publicity.

Moral of the story? Sex sells.

In part I’m sure you’d agree this is what happens when independent media isn’t allowed to be on the ground to report objectively, first hand, in real time.

For what it’s worth I’ve never said BBC is left leaning/pro Palestine/anti Israel. But I can see why people think it may be.
