Big City Girl Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I've just had my renewal notice for my car insurance and it says that to cancel my policy, there's an admin fee of £50. This can't be right surely? I've always just searched for new and cheaper policies and cancelled them without a fee? Quote
Morizio Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Cancelling your policy is done mid contract. To let the policy run its course, usually 12 months and then not renewing is called lapsing. There shouldn't be a charge for a policy lapsing. Quote

bolty58 Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Saw a cracking rear ender this morning on the way to work. Approaching some traffic lights a bit of a honey comes jogging (more like jiggling and bouncing) out of a side lane way dressed in a tiny top and a pair of those sprayed on Mumbles in a sort of metallic rainbow pattern. Bloke in front of me is hypnotised and runs straight up the back of the car in front of him who had stopped for a red light. Just made me wonder what they write on the insurance incident report. "I was distracted by these magnificent tits"? Rear end crashes are commonplace in the city centre in Perth in summer. All the lasses come flouncing out of their offices at lunch time wearing one or two small pieces of cloth and it's fucking carnage on St. Georges Terrace. Quote

no balls Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Good to see car insurance will be going through roof in next few months due to this compensation ruling. I'm not a violent woman but.... I'd love to go into the Annual Conference of Association of Personal Injury Lawyers in a Columbine stylee. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Good to see car insurance will be going through roof in next few months due to this compensation ruling. Yet more uninsured drivers. One politician saying the insurance companies can afford it nd should have put money as side for this; get real you jobber, they're just going to charge more. Oh and boobs distracting male drivers and consequential accidents is apparently more common than we might first think. Quote
L/H White Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 (edited) ours has gone up about £35 a month from last year. set of cunts Edited March 1, 2017 by L/H White Quote

The insurers gamble with introductory prices that most punters won't continue to switch and auto renewal is part and parcel of this. Just renewed mine as Churchill sent me a letter saying they would auto renew on 22 March at £120 more. I then tried four search engines and found one at £30 less than last year with lower compulsory excess and better free add ons. It pays to change every year. Quote
Sweep Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 It pays to change every year. Indeed, and she does change it every year, it's just the cheeky cunts removed about £400 out of her account 3 weeks before it was due to be paid Quote
birch-chorley Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 I wonder if the good folk of WW can help out with a car insurance query. My Mum has just been on the phone with an issue but it's got me stumped.... My sister has just come back from Uni and has been put on my Mums car for the summer, insurance said that her excess is much higher should she have an accident Any road, sister has come home tonight, half an hour later a neighbour comes round as the car has rolled down our drive over the road and into her house! Damage to her brickwork with a crack on the plaster inside. The lady from the house next door (semi detached) has come out and is saying that her house has a crack in it even though its meters away from the impact area Any idea on how this will play out with the insurance company? Will they charge the standard excess or the higher rate for my sister even though the car had been parked for half an hour? Quote

First thing is how does anyone know your mum wasn't driving last and parked the car up and thus it was her not your sisters excess that should apply? Secondly insurance coy will try everything not to pay out which is standard. Quote
birch-chorley Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 they told the other parties at the time (without thinking I suppose) Guess it's best to be honest now and not risk giving false information With it being parked for half an hour I'd have thought it was irrelevant If my sister drove it last and it was stolen off the drive would they then charge excess at the higher rate? birch-chorley Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Did it roll off the drive because hand brake not applied properly ? She said she put it on It was parked for at least half an hour and is a steep driveway so I can't see how it wasn't on, it would roll immediately Unless it was just not applied 100% Quote
