MalcolmW Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 I was watching BBC highlights, and commentator said it was the first time that Spennymoor Town had reached the First Round Proper. Didn't sound right, so I looked them up, and it was a merger/takeover of Evenwood Town and Spennymoor United, both of whom had previously done so. In fact Spennymoor United got to the third round in 1937. Frank Skinner's dad was a fan, went to a dance after a 7-1 thrashing from WBA, met his future wife, found work was readily available so got a job on the Monday. He returned home after 3 weeks for the rest of his clothes. Quote

burnden Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Club will be pleased with that , decent size crowd at home . Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Couldn't have been much worse. Won't be live TV either as they'll gravitate towards the non league clubs. Might be one of the Sunday 'highlight' games though. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Club will be pleased with that , decent size crowd at home . It'll be 50/50 them and us. Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 It'll be 50/50 them and us. Think they only got 6.900 in Round One, sounds like they're not that interested in th'early rounds either Quote
burnden Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 It'll be 50/50 them and us. Unless it on box then it might be more 60/40 them Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 I think it will be televised. Need one big one rather than all non league giant killing potential games. Quote
radcliffe white Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Hope for the sake of media embarrassment it's not in tv, be a decent crowd if not Quote
Zico Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 It'll be 50/50 them and us. Can't envisage them matching their opening day following Mainly as its not the opening day Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 (edited) Good chance of us getting through and chance of a big draw in round 3. I'm wanting Man U at OT and 10k away fans in a rerun of our cup game in early 90s. Edited November 7, 2016 by Mounts Kipper Quote
Marc505 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Much different circumstances now but didnt they outnumber us at least 2:1 in the 3rd round game during the Bayern/Atletico season? I see a draw here, Tuesday night replay on Sheffield student night, beaten in extra time. Quote
