Exactly right and my thoughts too which is why I imagined Forrester would be the best bet to take on the Jones dual role. I know he’s not a wing back but he is a good defender both aerially and on the ground and probably the best blocker we have to stop those crosses. If he leaves though we definitely need an addition there.

Forrester and Johnston are centre halves. Presume their height is a reason for this way of thinking, but we need to stop pushing the agenda that either are capable at full back.

Feel like Forrester will go. Decent enough but injury prone. Any profit on the £200k we paid and I’m happy; unless of course we just get back what we paid to waive any sell on ala Collins which is fine with me.

Be a shame to see Thomason go but £750k+ might not be the worst deal all round seeing as him and JDC are confined as whipping boys of the current crop, despite both running their bollocks off, JDC’s run of games etc.
Bolton fans always get behind grafters though 🙄

Surely Conway can’t be worse than Murphy last season, he was woefully bad. I’d much rather give game time to one of our own if that was the level of the best LB we can get hold of

Yep.

Ignoring/dismissing (insert as required) him as being the first choice full back seems premature.

Tomo did well there last year, and who knows, SS may see that as a decent set of options together with Taylor.

SS may of course feel Conway isn't quite ready, but him and Inwood are both with the first team squad, and will be getting due consideration.

Ceesay isn't coming now, and a striker or two would seem to be priority.

Serious question, would people have Dion Charles back (dirt cheap obvs)????

The club won’t have Charles back, so kind of irrelevant. However, to answer your question, no I wouldn’t. His lack of confidence and composure in front of goal was evident 18 months before we managed to offload him to Huddersfield. His form in 6 months since then, has indicated nothing has changed.

Two Barnsley, and Wigan the owner runs a very tight ship

Wycombe seem to have started to invest, but they are flogging a dead horse....Huddersfield is a real curve ball

The owner had never heard of Huddersfield prior to buying them in 2023....Relegated despite investing in them in his first season.

Last season they again invested both on and off the pitch but got nowhere......Seems he is the leading figure to get 1  Billion into the town centre of Huddersfield to re generate the town.

Seems to good to be true..

Unless I misunderstood Lady Sharron was involved in his exit & I doubt that's changed.

She also wanted him gone for being a twat to the mother of his illegitimate child and the girlfriend of her son.

And he'd a massive barney with Ol Evatt in a team meeting.

They don't really have time to micromanage players' personal lives...

I don't think anyone is or was micromanaging anyone.  If someone is acting the cunt and it's causing problems then you get shut.

In Charles' case it was made easier due to him having been pretty shit for months (and has been since he left).

Well they did in this case. The lad was causing trouble at the club and for the club in his private life.

Disruptive being the operative word.

His form, like said above, had fell off a cliff.

She was involved because Charles' ex was by then her son's latest flame & Charles hadn't treated her very well.

Really ? They have loads of time. The first team squad is only 25 or so & they're available most days. It's not like managing the NHS.
