Did GT get much B team action? I thought we signed him then sent him out on loan

He spent his first year on loan at Bamber Bridge, then went straight into the first team squad when he came back.

For a second, I thought you were talking about Santos!

Wow.

Name me a better League One centre half that could play centre of a 3 the way he does.

Santos player of the season, so far..

By a mile.  If he has a bad game, or even a bad half an hour, its headline news.

Other guaranteed starters can have one good game in 3 and there's talk of them leaving for a better team.

Not saying he doesn't have a mistake in him BTW, but he's having an 8 out of 10 season to date (IMO) and its hard to think of many others who'd get as high as 7.

In the pizza cup games I've seen Matheson play I thought that he did okay.  Certainly well enough to warrant a place in the squad seeing as there was one free.

My point exactly.

Aaah, but Bells has rung, loud & clear. He's shite, whatever you've seen with your own eyes.

Is this aimed at me?

I didn't say he was shite, nor did I say other people couldn't have their own opinion.

I simply said that he wasn't at the level needed to be a member of the first team squad. It seems a lot of highly paid professional coaches (at Wolves as well as Bolton) agree with me.

Your post didn't make me Feelgood

*It is.

**It wasn't intended to.

We're 3rd division, so the Wolves comparison is a bit beyond.

Our own coaches seem dedicated to fitting round pegs into square holes.

We sat there with a vacant squad place yet had a lad on our books that could have filled that space, at least until January's merry-go-round. It's not like we're averse to the odd injury crisis.

A player who's turned out in cup squads and performed no worse than some others.

That seems ludicrous to me.

We may as well pay him off if that's our view of him.

Odd question.

Here's me thinking it's a football forum, about the team we all support & we have a squad member who's unregistered despite a spare place being available ... & a manager acting increasingly oddly. It's not the top of anyone's priorities but nonetheless.

Sorry if you don't care, but I'm not demanding you do really, am I ?

Alright twisty knickers :D

I'm just saying it's really not that important is it.

In the grand scheme of things, some b team player not making the first team sqaud really isn't worth thinking about.

He's way down the pecking order and we are probably better keeping a sqaud place free for a loan or position that we might actually need some cover. Because as it stands, we don't at WB.

Unless you just want to find another made up reason to beat the manager with of course.

*No it doesn't.

**Yes I do ... of course.

It's just stupid not to register a bloke who's on your books while there's space... & he can be de-registered in seconds if someone bobbles along. Not that they would at that stage, or be fit if they did.

Love & k's, Twisty Knickers 😘.

i'm almost certain you cant dump folk out of the squad to replace with somebody else

otherwise, why bother with this stupid squad malarkey

* i'd have thought this was obvious

** but maybe i'm smarter than the average arth
