Wanderers ways is providing more Johnny Concretes on these topics then Forest Bank and Strangeways combined.

My only major gripe at the moment is that it was sold as something it could never be.

I am sure things will settle down eventually as far as imports/exports go but the fact is I cannot see any winners.

Who is benefitting from Brexit, or who will at some point?

So then, you're talking re a firm which sold 180k's worth of cheese to the EU last year ?

Let's talk figures of those at TVR who will benefit much much more due to not having to have tenders from EU members. That was the sticking point beforehand and caused the delay in the new plant being built in Wales. Like I say, much more involved, and the link is a few pages back if you care to look.

Won't go on re the massive Aldi deal which is worth billions as it seems to frighten the life out of Farrelli to the point he actually goes speechless when it is mentioned.

This ALDI deal ?

The Aldi deal is great if course, what's not to like about them buying British and creating jobs. I suspect it might have happened anyway, no matter if we're in or out of the EU. Either way, it's very good news.

The TVR deal, I'm a bit more suspicious of, I have a feeling they'll run out of money, after the directors have paid themselves handsomely of course. I hope I'm wrong.

Is the suggestion this deal happened because of brexit

Im confused

No, the suggestion is people were saying major companies were going to leave Britain, like for example Nissan.  The clear winner is TVR as I said which is a direct result of Brexit.

it probably would have happened if we stayed in the EU, though it is good strategy from Aldi to avoid any delays etc with their food coming from Europe, which is actually mentioned in the link I put up the other week. Ani's link is a shortened version. As well as huge job creation, Aldi have wisely covered their own back here.

Read a few things about Aldi recently and they do seem to do things their own way, which surprised me as I thought they were a cheap pile em high place.
They have a reputation for treating suppliers well

Obviously the deal is good news

Cracking deal pal. Removes a lot of uncertainty from producers etc, plus the obvious job creation and fresher food, which isn't dependent on delays from European travel etc. Like I say, clever folk behind Aldi's strategy

Spider could learn from them....I can say that now he has left this thread again 💤 😴

So, a massive Aldi deal Farrelli is ignoring "probably would have happened if we stayed in the EU", "good strategy from Aldi to avoid any delays" and "Aldi have wisely covered their own back here" - your own words aren't exactly painting a wonderful Brexit picture at present.

Lidl and aldi are good to suppliers.  Tesco are horrendous.

Having said that, the expansion probably would have happened, not too sure now re the security and extra funds to our producers having given it second thought. Like I say, they are also covering their own backs which is excellent, but very good for us too.

What's your thoughts on the TVR deal ?

I must have missed the post pal, I have googled but can't find anything.

Don't get me wrong, we have left the EU so I want nothing more than good news stories, Christ we need them with the year we have had. I am genuinely worried about folks jobs with Covid and Brexit double whammy, that's all.

I think the post was around Janaury 3rd pal. The chairman directly blamed the EU in the article for delaying things due to the tendering policy, which was rectified instantly when we left the EU and plans were submitting using local companies.

I've just checked my initial thoughts from New Year's Eve re Aldi, I said it was all good at the time , so if I'm accused of backpedalling, then I've backpedalled weeks into the future.....Michael J Fox eat your heart out 😄

For clarity, can the leavers just do a quick bullet point to how this is better. No issue, no argument, just a quick and clear run down.

All discussed almost 4 weeks ago fella.
